Despite the cost - it is this kind of item that will make the difference. Would you rather 1. Save yourself 100 bucks and get yourself one of those cheap "knee/shin guards" that provide little to no protection and or don't cover but the edge of your shin, leading to injury that could keep you from biking and or thousands in medical bills? Or 2. Spend that extra 100 bucks one time and spare yourself injury, medical bills, and all the drama that comes with injury? With that said - I picked up the Leatt 3DF EXT Knee/Shin guards and they are absolutely great! Exceptional fit and great protection and comfort. I'm happy to see manufacturers are providing more adequate protection gear like the one in this video. I'm thinking of buying this one for my son, as it is much nicer to be able to "strap" it on as oppose to slip it on. Either way, slipping it on is easy, as you just turn it around and it slides right on. Thanks for video though. Much appreciate it.

Decided to actually try practicing jumping last week, built a little kicker ramp and landing. First jump I stiffened up and bounced right into my pedal, too ragged a wound for stitches so I'll just be regrowing some skin for a while. On the bright side, someone at work actually believed me when I told them my leg got attacked by a mountain lion. You can probably guess why I'm watching reviews of shin guards, haha.

You should check out the new Pearl Izumi Elevate kneepads. They are breathable, I don't overheat, and I don't get rashes. Unless I wear the indoor after a ride for too long Soft D3O padding with moto approved protection. They seem to be secure eif worn correctly.
@45graham45

@mtbboy1993

Update I do get rash on left leg only, but I think that's due to the hump on leg muscle. But the particular D3O pad uses is great, well vented.
@mtbboy1993
@mtbboy1993 11 ай бұрын
@@45graham45 I get that, but I can't find any really breathable solutions for that currently. So there are two extremes, Pearl Izumi Elevate for decent protection, ventilation, light weight. And Poc VPD2.0 DH long + VPD2.0 shin pads. probably greatest coverage there is, but super warm. And easier to get heat rash. they feel like standing near an fireplace in the summer, you get soaked in sweat. But it would be a good idea to make a full guard or an shin pad.
