I watched a lot of comparison videos between Gopro 11 and Action 3. I preferred the video quality from the Gopro. But the magnetic clips, the batteries, the overheating, front touch screen, made me buy the Action 3. So in my opinion, very accurate assessment, my friend. All the best!

it must have been propaganda, because hero 11 is the most stable camera since hero 4. Many reviewers and users of many generations of gopros talk about it.
@Mrthezanax Жыл бұрын
@@xXadambXx No it's not a propaganda. My fiend and I bought it for our moto adventures travels and after 3 months of use we sold them. Overheating and stop recording, glinching were some of the causes. Now I have used osmo 3 action for 6 months and everything is fine. Yes, gopro has a better dynamic range and slightly overall better footage, but everything can be be fixed in post edit. For me who travels with my bike and makes so many road trips filming the routes and the points I stop, durability and battery life is a matter of primary importance. Also most reviewers on youtube mention all these issues with the gopro as well as the oa3 focus issue. Βy the way I didn't face this focus issue with my oa3. Maybe I was lucky buying from the lots that didn't have the problem.
@mtb_alan Жыл бұрын
I totally dig where you're coming from. Use the kit that fits. I haven't had overheating issues with the GoPro, but I mostly run it while riding the bike. I did actually have the OA3 overheat once, but it was while vlogging with the camera mounted on the dash of the truck, so it was a bit of a harsh scenario. As far as image, I'm currently editing a bunch of OA3 footage, and no amount of post processing can fix a loss of image information. When the highlights get blown out and the shadows get crushed, there's no image data to grade. Now, the lower image quality probably won't take away from the overall story in that video. But I was logging my GoPro 11 footage from this last weekend, and wow is the image quality ever better. I really liked the convenience of the OA3, but I think I'm going back to the GoPro with all its issues just for the higher image quality.

The GoPro footage objectively has more detail and a better dynamic range. The DJI is more contrasty and punchy. But as you say, you like the DJI better, and that's valid. @@mtb_alan I want to take stills from the footage on mtb ride, I will shoot at 1080P 99% of time, so I am confused. OA3 offers better battery life but stills from it are said to be worse than GP10. But GP10 has worse battery. Both are in sale, GP10 costs $40 more. Too many comments / videos on GP10 overheating (is it paid promotions?), I can't tell. I live in north India, so maximum it can get 40C and on avg its 22-30 most of year. Please advise.
@mtb_alan4 ай бұрын
Regarding overheating, I would say it's not a real concern. The cases where people were seeing overheating were unrealistic cases where the camera was running for an extended period, indoors, and with no airflow. As far as stills from the footage, if that's your goal, then you will want to film in at least 4K. Regardless of the camera, pulling a still from 1080 video is gonna produce low-quality results. And I think between the Action3 and the GoPro HERO10, the HERO10 is gonna deliver a higher quality image...especially if you film at 4K. And even better if you record at 5.3K on the GoPro. And as far as battery, the DJI does have better battery life. But in practical terms, I don't find that the somewhat shorter battery life of the GoPro causes me any issues. The batteries are small and easy to carry, and for a full day of shooting for me, I carry one extra battery and only sometimes need to use it. I will say though that the HERO12 manages battery consumption better than previous models. And it is probably worth it to spend the extra money on the HERO12 since it should last several years before you need to upgrade. That's my opinion anyway.

Love the disclaimer but rarely-if ever have I seen a review or campion that doesn’t side with the sponsor or “freebie”.
@mtb_alan Жыл бұрын
I didn't side with DJI. I made it clear that the Action 3 matches a particular mindset..one that is not mine. And to be clear, they are not a sponsor. And it ain't a freebie. A few hundred bucks of camera gear is far below any reasonable compensation for the skills, gear, and hours put into a detailed review. But here's a bit of insight into how I operate. I start by ensuring that the brand knows that their product is NOT compensation since I can't review it if I don't have it. And if I don't like a product, I let the brand know that I won't plan to do a review on it. I don't enjoy making content about stuff I don't like. And doing so takes time away from making content about stuff I do like. It's more valuable to share stuff that my audience might actually want. Believe me, I have a lot of cameras and kit sitting on shelves whose reviews will never see the light of day because I thought the product wasn't good. I feel it's a cheap move to spend time saying something is crap. Nobody benefits from that unless there's some sort of safety concern that people need to know about.
