Thank you @MTBPlanB this was just what I needed. I noticed the armature had a lot of resistance to spinning, give it a flip it it might turn over once, maybe twice. One thing I noticed that might be helpful to your readers- the white plastic washer had compressed and was shedding into the space between washer and brass through-bolt, causing binding. I used a razor to trim the hole back to its original diameter and the armature spun freely. But that plastic is much too soft for extended use, I'll see if I can get a washer made of teflon or some other more resilient material.

Excellent! Finally found this video, which illustrates the same Ryobi model that I have. Other videos (for other models) suggest greasing the center gizmo; one suggested marine grade grease.

Yup. Ryobi needs to recall these pesky dang nonspinning pieces of crap. 1 driveway and patio and bingo... no more spin. Cleaned, still nonspinner!

Thank you for this detailed video! My arm of the sirface cleaner stops spinning after about 5 seconds. If i need to lube or grease the ryobi 2300 psi surface cleaners middle nozzle to help it spin, what kind of libe of grease should I use?

I had the same problem with mine, I cleaned it and still happened. I turned off my pressure washer and squeeze trigger, it kept spinning with less pressure so I knew it wasn't clogged. Whenever it stops spinning, I lift it and barely squeeze the trigger. Might take a few tries but it'll start spinning again and I squeeze trigger fully and keep going. I have no clue why it does it. I have 1800 psi, 1.2gpm ryobi electric pressure washer. I suspect if it was less than 1800 psi it might not hang up. Maybe someone will figure it out. It is definitely faster.

Here I thought it was my pressure washer, my boss bought this attachment to clean the new shop floors we're moving into. After a few hrs it just doesn't wanna spin, it's intermediate. Very frustrating to be honest, I'm using a 1900 psi ryobi electric pressure washer. I don't like the stupid hose that comes with the handle though it kinks up to much

I bought one of these, and it worked great - for a total of 1 hour! I went through all the cleaning operations indicated in the manual, just the way you did it here in your video, and it still wouldn't work. It spins when I first squeeze the trigger, but within 5 to 20 seconds the rotor stops spinning. I tried cleaning again, with the same results. I took it back to the store and got a replacement unit, and that worked even worse than the first one! This Ryobi surface cleaner is a piece of junk! I got my money back instead of trying to get this damn thing to work. 😤👎 ZERO ⭐

@@MTBPlanB I bought the Greenworks brand to replace the Ryobi and it works much, much better! I think it might be because it has a brass rather than plastic washer in the center hub. According to the info on the box, the Greenworks uses 0.5 gpm more than the Ryobi, which is a negative, but maybe the higher flow is why it works better. Also, the Ryobi was $40 at Home Depot and the Greenworks was $30 at Lowe's, so that's a real plus in my book as well.

I had the exact same experience. The Ryobi 12 inch surface cleaner lasted me 1.25 driveway cleanings. After that, the nozzles would spin up after pulling the trigger, but then slow down after 20 seconds or so and often stop altogether, until I released and pressed the trigger again. I disassembled the nozzle arm and nozzles, cleaned and lubricated everything and the issue persisted. I love Ryobi products but this thing is a waste of plastic.

How do you clean the jets if you don't have an air compressor?

Can of air used to clean computer keyboard or small wire.

Soaking it in water and detergent would also dislodge.

Nothing. I used the products in the video directly on the concrete.

I found the removal of that filter to be impossible. I would suggest the Greenworks brand instead.

@@thoughtfuloutrage5563 i prefer Ryobi because they are the number 1 selling brand and i have not had anything break during use!! it was just the part when trying to remove to clean and unclog, but without having to remove that, it still cleans without streaking
