I'll put that on my list of possible next bikes... Great review showing all the things that matter. I was impressed by so many things on this bike it has to be a real contender on anyone's future new bike list. I'd love to see more just playing with the controller and software. Great walk mode, and option of bypassing the bar toggle if you damage it. There are some real geniuses working at Rocky Mountain. Don't get me started on the engine and crank configuration.... Exciting times.... Well done.

The shop I'm buying from says delivery will be sometime in January 2022. Looking forward to it! If you're ever in the Lake District give me a shout and we can do a big ride in the hills.

Bike just looks amazing with all the changes, but then you knew I would say that. Other than all the updates, including the Jumbotron which gives us so much more data, the new charging port looks loads better with the cover over it, previous one I found was never that great at staying in place. Great video guys, one very jealous Rocky fan boy here ❤

Vastly, and I mean VASTLY underrated ebike of the last years. People, at least try it. This is a different thing compared to anything else on the market. Jim please suggest RM a 400wh internal battery since it has an extender. They would do a smaller extender too to fully range/weight customization ! They will piooners once more, did you any ebike that feature that? No!

@PinnedTV7 ай бұрын
It was a great bike, bad points are any plastic bits you have to be real careful not to over tighten bolts or they crack. The worst component is the spider bearing in middle of crank, as they were lasting about three months and very expensive! The bike and handling is superb and the motor is super strong

Hi Jim, Great review!! I just ordered a medium C70 Altitude Powerplay. Do you have any tips or tricks you've done or heard of for this bike? Do you have the MX mount for the 27.5 rear? I'm thinking of going with the mullet for more playful, nimble, better cornering bike, etc.. Thoughts? I've also heard of riders changing out the chainring from 34T to 32T for better cadence sweet spot pedaling..? Any info would be appreciated!! Thank you, Steve
@PinnedTV Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, be careful tightening anything that plastic, like motor covers, like zero torque! Only problem with the MX link is you will loose top end speed as the speed sensor is set for a 29 wheel. Never tried the smaller chainring, but makes sense

Hello. Really nice review I have to say! 👍🏻 Can you tell me more about the durability/reliability of the Dyname system, especially the old version? I heard rumors that the motors had to be replaced quite often. Thanks a lot in advance.
@PinnedTV2 жыл бұрын
Had mine a year and only issue was when my son cleaned it upside down with a jetwash and the Iwoc controller was swimming in the water!! That wrote the motor off and was replaced immediately on warranty. Other than that (our fault) it's been impeccable
@McCoy3432 жыл бұрын
@@PinnedTV Thanks for the quick reply. I was just wondering about the reliability because a friend of mine visited a Rocky Mountain store here in Germany this week and they told him that they repair more bikes than they sale. So I’m a little bit anxious to buy a new Altitude with that in mind. 😅🙈

What size do you ride in slayer and did you pick the same size for this bike? I’m 5’5 small female. I have a 2021 slayer that’s a medium that is almost at the limit of being big. Love the way it rides and feels great. But getting close to too big. Considering going with a small in the altitude ebike to make it a bit more manageable due to weight and length.
@PinnedTV2 жыл бұрын
Yeh both large to match, but the new ebike is like 15mm longer
@vincentchariou5802 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim,thanks for the test. I would like to know what is the expected range with this battery in ludicrous mode. I bought a santa Cruz heckler MX two months ago,shimano ep8 and 504wh battery. The man from the shop was telling me that i can be able to ride from 60 to 80 kilometers in eco mode,depending on terrain,weights etc etc…but in fact i can.’t ride more than 40km…i live in France around normandy wich is similar terrain than yours. I played with the app ( etube) to lower the power etcetc…but it’s still not enough in termes of range and worst,it’s been less fun cause i must ride 90% of the Time in eco mode if i want to ride more than 2 hours … I was looking firstfor a rocky altitude powerplay 2021 but they were almost all out of sale here in France. So i bought a SC wich is a vers very good bike,but the battery is way too short in range . So if the new dyname 4 and his new battery are good enough for long runs ( i’not worry with power !! ) i will sell my SC for a brand new rocky. Please let me know what you think about it. Cheers. Vincent
@PinnedTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Vincent, yeh my buddy had the Santa Cruz and I currently have a 2020 RM Altitude, which would do nearly a third more range than his! Not sure on the new one, as I only had it for a day. But when I had my RM (bearing in mind it wasn't totally new when I got it) I could do about 25k in ludicrous with the 625 battery. Now it's done a lot of work so range is less, due to battery wear, but I'd say the new one would do maybe 35-40k in ludicrous mode, so you'd get a real big day out of it in eco, easily 60-70k, but thats just a guess.as soon as I get one I can let you know

It looks a lot longer and larger than the 2021 bike….. makes me wonder if it turns nearly as well on really sharp angles which is why i got an altitude in first place, not made to convert to 27.5 is a bit annoying too, not sure about the idea of killing a bike by making it another the way they did… guess i find out when it comes in…. And that drive area is a lot less sealed up yikes…..
