Great video man. Content like this is a huge plus on your channel tbh. You’re a pretty good rider and it’s super nice to see how people tackle different stuff. IRL you just don’t get this perspective from anyone unless it’s the one or two guys you ride with, so stuff like this actually rocks

Thanks! Yeah, I've wanted to make ''how to'' video's in the past but feel like there's already a lot of that sort of video on KZbin... I figured this would be helpful for anyone riding this particular event... there are a lot of pinch points in this race and think this could help someone!

Congrats on that last tricky climb, that was amazing to see! I've never cleaned it (tried many times) and I've never seen anyone clean it, but have heard it's possible. For those not familiar, it's much steeper/bigger in real life.

Thanks David... it's a bit of grunt. I've done it a number of times but it takes just about everything out of me haha and I've never attempted it on True Grit race day... just not worth it.

Thank you for this video! Great breakdown for getting down waterfall, which I have not ridden on race day, and going to St. George to session in a couple weeks! Also love the Lab Austere hip pack, my boyfriend and I use ours all the time and it worked great last year for True Grit! Ill be on my new Element, riding and racing with a couple friends, its their first TG so we are just looking to finish and have some fun along the way, too 😀

Great detail on that left lower line on the waterfall.. I'll probably stick to going to the right as it's less intimidating for me - and I've cleaned it multiple times, but I may give your line a try on a preride. Left would obviously be faster, but you are right, you ain't gonna win it on the DH tech.

Thanks! We were screwing around with the kids that weekend so it's nice to have the flat for a lot of messing around... hiking drops and jumps. I try to get away from clipless as often as I can but in the end being clipped in is just easier.... I need to spend more time on flats.

Jason, where's the beloved Ripley? I saw a Santa Cruz and Pivot but no Ripley. I've never been there so I'm guessing you were more comfortable using a longer travel bike? Although the Ripley and Trail 429 could've handled it, I'm guessing it was easier and not as jarring on the longer travel bike? Anyway, like the channel, the reviews and scenery

Thanks Fred. I've done this race twice on a Ripley and last year on the Ibis Exie... I had the 5010 and Trail 429 in these videos as I was filming bike reviews on those particular bikes on those days....

@mtbyumyum
@mtbyumyum Жыл бұрын
Here's a link to my Strava... www.strava.com/athletes/2904628 you can go look at my workouts. I would typically shoot for 6 hours weeks on the trainer with some 8 hour weeks sprinkled in there. Lots of Zone 2 Endurance work... 60-75% of FTP. The key is consistency and motivation for me. I'd rather show up to True Grit with a lot of low-medium intensity rides in me from Dec-March than burning out on workouts that are too difficult back in Dec. or Jan. Good luck!! I would also make sure you have your nutrition figured out before the race and make sure your eating early and often... once you get behind on your calories it's difficult to pull it together out on the trail.
