I have travelled in this bus....... Torque delivery is good but the pickup cannot be identified because the drivers has been advised highly not to apply accelerator so there will be like no pickup feel......... So that people should not wrongly understand that there is no pickup...........

It’s good to see BS6 in MTC and TNSTC… like MTC depute present red buses on seasons.. For seasonal Moffusil routes MTC may engage these buses based on need.. Door designs they can re consider as you said.. Nice video with info sir..

Even TNSTC Deluxe also doesn't have Air Suspension. In TN Deluxe means only LED Route Boards with Automatic Doors that's it.

Actually mtc made this design for multiple uses ,one for transfer this buses into special services durimg festival time,another reason is these buses may be tranferred to another divisions for village services during scraping age,beacuse i see a red bus in martandam which was running a complete village route in hill area were its same deaign bus is running in metro city like chennai ,govt policy of one design ine state,while bmtc didnt use there buses into special services or tranfer to remote depos in karnataka

Of course, the TN government goes for a standard body design taking into account future usage for town/village operations. Limited number of buses can be shifted in this manner, but Village/town operations should be treated as a separate domain and people should be provided quality service with buses specifically designed for those operations

Sir one more point to be added is that MTC and TNSTC don't have SOS buttons and fire alarm system (FDAS) even now while most of the other RTC's have them. Only some Global TVS built yellow BS6 TNSTC buses have panic buttons but no fire detection system. Still TNSTC and MTC are focusing on full body ads, multi colour display and aesthetics of the bus. This should be changed and they should focus better on the comfort and facilities. Also, TNSTC and MTC town buses have seats with no headrest whereas BMTC(Bangalore) and KSRTC buses have seats with headrests even for city buses along with FDAS (fire detection system) and SOS buttons. KSRTC has SOS buttons and fire detection system even in their Karnataka Sarige (3+2 seating ordinary) buses. All these parameters along with those you have listed in the video need to be worked upon.

Good observation. Actually MTC has Tata buses(Roughly 80:20 ratio between AL & Tata)but no Eicher buses. Reasons are multiple- 1. Familiarity with Ashok Leyland with respect to maintenance & Repair 2. Few depots only equipped with Tata spare parts. 3. AL Viking's all round ability- Engine torque delivery good across wide ranges, mileage , Durability, strong Chassis 4. Lack of administrative efficiency in exploring Tata and Eicher Personally, I recommend that MTC buy a minimum no: of Eicher buses as well, and increase no: of Tata buses slightly to ensure a wide portfolio

Thanks for sharing your view. But BMTC design is best suited for City operations. If men need Front ride/cabin ride, the rules can be changed to accommodate gents in right side and women in left side as currently followed in Tamilnadu

I like old green colour format body type which has side seat near driver close to hear box
