(MTCE) Downgrade from Android 10/9 to Android 9/8 Android Head Unit - Rockchip PX6, PX5, and PX30

Well thank you very much. Thats exactly the information I needed. I also bought an Xtrons HU with PX6 and Android 10 but I wasn't sure if I could just downgrade to Android 9 like that. (I had the Hal9k V4.1 on my PX5 which was awesome!)

Yeah, you can do that! I actually went back to Android 10 since there is now root for it but I'm patiently waiting for Hal9k to put out a new version

I'm gonna try this on my Dasaita PX30 unit. Is there any risk of bricking the device? I'm using factory files only

@@extrememod_ahu What do you mean by factory files? If you mean without Mod Installer Pro, then you will need to figure out how to downgrade/upgrade the recovery/bootloader. This is what Mod Installer Pro does and it's the safest method to do it with. The firmware should be fine but without the correct bootloader/recovery it won't install correctly or be able to boot. Firmware would be a soft brick but if you mess up the recovery, then that can be a potential hard brick. That being said, anything that involves third-party/custom methods will pose a potential threat. However, I view using Mod Installer Pro as little risk.

Yes. This method should work for you. Just get Mod Installer Pro 2 from here: hal9k.ru/?page_id=207 (This costs = ~$10 USD) And.. Firmware can be found here: yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr But I would suggest: forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-software-development/rom-hal9k-mod-v4-mtcd-e-head-units-t4046361/amp/ For 9.0 or the Hal9K Mod 3.0 for 8.0. Both have free versions and he addresses some bugs while adding some nice features. Just make sure you pick the right processor (from a quick Google search, it seems like yours has an PX30 but make sure to check with an hardware info apk).

Not at all. I went back to Android 10 soon after this video. Just sometimes people want to downgrade to a different version of Android for one reason or another. I downgraded in the video so I could use Hal9k's ROM which wasn't out for Android 10 until recently.
