Thanks a multimillion times man. My Px6 got a bootloop after I tried to uprade to Android 10.Tried everything with no success. Only managed to flash back Android 9 using your methods. I had to flash Hal9k custom firmware. That did the trick. All the other firmwares were failing to boot.

Hi Alex, I have a PX5 MTCE_AW_V3.78_1. My issue with the head unit is that when I first used it before updating it found and connected to my phone but then after updating it to the latest firmware the Bluetooth doesn't work. I contacted Sygav and they told me to change the BT module from SD-968 to WQ-RF210, WQ-BC6 or FSC-BW124. My head unit doesn't come with FSC-BW124 but FSC-BW123. None of them worked as the head unit is not detecting any devices. I even tried all the other BT options. I have reseted it to factory settings and tried again and still nothing has changed. It is very frustrating as I am relying on the BT for my phone for safety and legal reasons when on the road. And Sygav hasn't replied since I updated them about their recommendations not working. I also noticed that the symbol for the BT isn't showing in the status bar, so I am not sure if it is a case of it not turning on entirely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the difference between CHS / GS / HA / HCT /OLS firmwares ? only design and launcher or other features too ? I believe i have some kind of GS firmware on my PX6 Android 10 device, and it doesn't have a lot of settings (missing night/day theme, and some others found in other firmwares). Can I use the USB update.zip method to update to one of the others ? (ex: HCT7 or HA ?) . It would be interesting to create a video and show us how all these firmwares look.

The difference is the design. Not every Firmware have Day/Night - Theme.

Hello Alex, I currently have MTCE MX v3.41 which has this MX4_PX5_9.0_ota(20191216) ota. So i want to upgrade it to android 10 and i have installed gs7_px5_10.0_ota(20200615) on the usb with the .zip extension. I put it on the multimedia and displays me to install the update i click yes and the tick . When it goes on installing system update then in 1 minute it goes to the menu and says error on installing the update. What can i do to update it?

Hi, you have to watch the video correctly. You can't simply install an OTA Update for Android 10 on Android 9. In this video I explain how to Update the recovery for Android 10 and then install the OTA. So you have to follow the video and install the recovery first.

Hi, I have a PX5 unit with 'LM' MCU. I have downloaded the latest MCU version, but within the 'RockChip PX5 Android 10' folder there is no corresponding 'LM' folder. The only folders what are available are 'CHS', 'GS', 'HA', HTC', 'HLA' and 'OLS'. Can you install any Android 10 image from these files? Or should I upgrade to Android 9 which does have a 'LM' folder?

Hey Tiago, this LM is only important for MCU. For MCU you always have to use LM. For the firmware you can use every version for PX5.

Hey, wow aus Alaska 😮😮😮 Schalte das Gerät vollständig aus. Trenne es vom Strom. Öffne das Gerät, löse die zwei Schrauben vom Coreboard, versuche das Coreboards mit leichten Wip-Bewegungen vor und zurück zu lösen und auszubauen. Dann Bau das Coreboard wieder ein. Achte darauf, dass du das Coreboard mit Gefühl an der Pin Leiste runter drückst. Alle Pins müssen guten Kontakt haben. Gruß Alex

I've tried this method, but when I reboot the screen is just black and the unit cannot be booted until the card is taken out. The 4gb card is recognized as GPS. I also had no luck with the computer method, it doesn't even recognize that it is connected, even after rebooting into recovery (drivers installed and using the software you sent me links to). I also tried flashing an update.zip with a usb stick, but I get an error (could not open /proc/config.gz and failed to verify package compatibility). Any other ideas for me? The unit is PX5 (Erisin ES7821B) on MTCE_LM. I was able to update the MCU just fine with a usb stick using your other video.

There are CHS, GA, HA HCT ect what are the differences please? Based on the above do I need to update the MCU first before applying the android updates and what is the typical process for this.

For MCU you always have to use MTCE LM, for main android firmware you can use every version. Download the newest MTCE LM MCU, unpack with winrar, copy dmcu.img on a Fat32 formatted usb drive and connect to the HU. Everything is showed up in the video.

Hi Alex, fantastic video. Only issue I am having is the GPS side when inserting the Memory card. Does the stereo need to come out to access the GPS USB slot? I have two USB connectors available but neither show on the file explorer as GPS.

@@kevinstephens4616 no, you can't use the MicroSD in a USB card reader on the USB port. You have to use the MicroSD Slot from the device. And in the stock file manager the card should be recognized as GPS card.

It worked perfectly for me, I have a px5 MTCE with stock android 8 and updated straight to 10 by using the full IMG file, I just struggled a bit as SD Firmware tool wasn't recognising my laptop SD card reader so I tried with a previous version and it worked. Just the "installing system update" screen took way more than 10 minutes for me (about 25min) but just be patient! Now that I have Android 10, I wonder what would be the best rom ota to install. Any recommendations would be appreciated:) thanks

I downloaded the file, unzipped and extracted only the .img file I put it in a 128gb sd and the stereo sees it as a gps card, I can see the files inside. when I enter the password for the reboot it turns off and doesn't turn on anymore! For MCU you always have to use MTCE CZ, for main android firmware you can use every version. You can skip the part with IGV Img.

I tried to make the SD with the SDDiskTool 1.62 on an 8GB card and as it happens to you in the video it doesn't work, so I had to buy a 4GB SD, the first problem is that the SDDiskTool 1.62 throws me a "disk error format "when I try to create it, the SD works perfect if I format it and I don't see that it is the problem, so I tried to find another version of the SDDiskTool and I found 1.53 that did let me create it but the HU still doesn't recognize it, with Android 9 Started tells me that the device is the GPS device and lets me see the files, but if I restart the screen remains black and does not start, if I remove the card there it will load the OS. What can I do?

Hi. First of all thanks for the tutorial. I have managed to successfully upgrade to android 10 (from 9) and also update mcu to MTCE_GS_v3.56 (from v3.10). However I have a small problem. Everytime I start the car and the android head unit (PX30) opens many functionalities don't work properly. If I reboot the head unit eveything goes back to normal. Do you know a fix for this? It's not that nice to always reboot in order to work properly. :(

Or when I play a video on youtube, the sound comes on but video not, it's just a black screen. If I simply reboot the head unit everything works just fine. This happens everytime I start the car.

I would try to re download the firmware and reinstall the firmware or you could try to perform a wipe data factory reset.

Hello Alex. Trying to follow your steps on my PX5 RK3368 MTCE_HA WQ-BC6. My question is about the SD-Card. My card reader slot is located in the back of the unit, inside the dashboard. Would have to remove the radio. But, it does have 2 USB cables in the glove compartment. And I am quite sure that I have done MCU and other updates in the past using the USB cables. Do you think it would work for Android 10? And one more question if you mind, when I try to download the IMG file, there is none in the Yandex link you shared (under PX5 HA)... only OTA around 900mb in size. Where can I find it? Should I download from the PX5 CHS folder the IMG file? Thank you.

Hi Alex, Thank you for the video, it's awesome. I had some problem with the creation of the sd-card. I downloaded the Android 10 MTCE- HT version for my PX5 and after extraction I got an "update.ZIP" not .IMG file. With the aplication Rockchip_Create4_Upgrade_disk_tool_v.1.62, I cannot create the sd-card because: 1. It's not an .IMG file , and 2. if i force to add the .ZIP file and then press the Create button, I've got an error that says: Opening firmware faileds! Please help me to upgrate my PX5 to android 10. I am from mod 4 hal9k with android 9. Maybe I could try to extract the recovery from another android 10 firmware, but there are two img files, "boot" and "uboot" if I remember correctly and I don't know which one I should use. To prepare the sdcard I used the tool, but I always have to select "upgrade firmware" or "sdboot" to put the recovery?

I have a PX5 device and sometimes I have a problem with various applications. For example, Google Maps surprisingly can be closed and I get back to the desktop. It is frustrating if you are following the way, and your map is gone. I cannot open such an app after that. The problem disappeared after a couple of minutes and the app is opened again. Has anybody had the same problem?
