so, I started transitioning at 53 (not quite a year in), I've noticed a few things with hrt... a) hair loss stopped/reversal. This has been wonderful for dysphoria, and my hair is much thicker/happier. b) around 3 months in, yeah, people started commenting on my skin/face changing before I noticed c) boobies. Yep, they are there. A little more than an A cup at the moment. Took around 4 months to start being visible. I wear a bra for "pain days", when they are having a growth spurt d) acne. Sigh, 2nd puberty, 2nd attack of acne. Ah well, at least I better hygiene this time around. I love your videos, Mathilda. You are such a beautiful woman, and your honesty and candor concerning this topic has been very informative.

I was really surprised how easy it was for me to get on HRT (GAHT) here in the states. My doctor at the time didn't understand what I was asking and sent me a recommendation to a psych, but I ended up just going to Planned Parenthood. The NP I talked listened to me, agreed I suffered from GD, and prescribed Estradiol patches and Spiro... It was, without a doubt, the best decision I've ever made for myself.

I'm seriously shocked how sweden seems to be dealing with trans issues. Experts in the topic are convinced that the best way to allow trans people to go on hormones is "informed consent". A three year waiting time for HRT would have cost me my life! In germany for example there are a couple informed consent endocrinologists who will give you HRT the first day you see them and you dont have to pay a penny for it. There are even more therapists who will give you a letter of recommendation for HRT right away. Anything else is just rediculous gatekeeping and definitely not healthy. Come on Sweden!
@MeganOHowe3 жыл бұрын
in Canada im on just over 3 months waiting so far had an appointment to register and another today, few weeks I get blood work and another appointment after that maybe a month from now. Canada is a country where the government has a conflict of interest to prevent cheaper homes from being made and help the rich get richer from higher and higher property prices and more and more government bureaucracy that makes it harder for trans ppl but ppl in the media promote Trudeau as helping trans rights when he makes it harder via cost of living, rent in Niagara Falls is close to Toronto prices with a FRACTION of the population and jobs!
@canadey973 жыл бұрын
American here. I can’t imagine having to wait three whole years! Ive gone to an informed consent clinic for my whole transition and I literally left my first appointment prescription in hand. Informed consent is honestly the way to go.

They're extremely cheap though. I paid $55 a month for my injection for a month supply, it was a brand name though. $40 for the brand of patches I used. If I went for the generics, it wouldn't ever be above $10 per month. The pills are $5. My hormone suppressant is $40 for a month, but if I wanted cheaper options, I could be spending $10 or less per month for those too. It's very affordable. If I ever lose insurance, compounding pharmacies are cheap options too.

I just started laser hair removal for my beard a couple months ago 2 sessions so far, not much longer to go for HRT! I hope to go full time at 2 months on HRT but may change depending on how much facial hair is removed or if I get good enough at makeup.

Don't know if you will ever read this (probably not) but all i can do is ask. Since im 11 (now 21) im feeling i life in the wrong body but never had the courage to speak about that freely. I am thinking about making my transition right now because im not feeling comfortable with my male self but i am a bit anxious of the results. Since im starting of really thinking about transition i've watched your videos and with that you cleared a lot of my former fears of transitioning. The background of my question is that i am 189cm (6ft 2,4") and have a shoulderwidth of around 47cm (1ft 6,5"). So im pretty tall even for male standards. My dream is to be a woman but i would be 6ft2" and i fear of being rejected because of my height and my not very small shoulders (i think). But my real question is if HRT lets your shoulders look a little smaller (even in the slightest)? I think i can handle the height but im not sure i would still be looking pretty male even with HRT because of my shoulderwidth and that is my greatest fear. That i would still be looking male even with HRT. Thanks for your videos and for being a true example of how well transitioning can be. Keep it up!

Hi Mathilda. What hormone levels do you have from creams. You don’t mention subcutaneous estradiol pellets as an hrt option. Administered once every 3-6 months, pellets slowly dissolve into your body producing optimal levels of hormone

Were you ever worried about your bottom surgery and not getting the look and depth you had hoped for? And what’s the order you started step by step in your personal experience with your transition? As you progressed did your gender dysphoria minimize? Also know it’s kinda personal but genuinely curious on which bottom surgery method you decided to go with and who your surgeon was
@DarDarBinks19863 жыл бұрын
I've been on HRT for 8 months now and have noticed some breast growth and changes to my face but still haven't noticed any fat distribution. My hormones are in pill form: 6 mg of estradiol and 200 mg of spironolactone. I'm also on olanzapine (5 mg) for anger and depression related to having Asperger's syndrome. I've done everything right and never missed a day of titty skittles. Why haven't I noticed any fat shifting, pelvic widening, etc.? According to my lab results, my testosterone was very low so I know the spiro is doing something. My estradiol was at 58 picograms per milliliter; it's supposed to be around 200 picograms.
@hey-os9to2 жыл бұрын
I also had olanzapine when I was 18 did it give you obsessions, like force thinkings? That's what happened to me... But I have other drugs that messed everything up, not just olanzapine...
@philiphanan1493 Жыл бұрын
As an Intersex Male with Hyperestrogenism, believe me, the fat distribution will come. It took me two years to experience fat redistribution which has caused my body to look far more feminine. And that’s without HRT. I just started taking Soy and Estrogen supplements which are speeding up the process.

On the pills/gel/patches/injections question. Dr.Powers, some doctor in the US, starts his patients on 6-12 months of pills, and then do injections (but gels and patches should work the same). Has to do with Estrone, or e1, being very high in girls right before puberty, and appears to help out with breast development, and pills mainly end up as estrone, instead of estradiol. Long term pills are bad, but poor effects and unhealthy. Also, avoid cyproterone, since it causes brain tumors at a very high rate, and can stunt breast development (goes for spiro too). If you have to, the suggested dose is something like 12,5mg/day.
@ストラウスラクサス3 жыл бұрын
Every study there is about CPA causing benign tumors is on dosages above 50-100mg a day whilst 12.5mg a day is enough to fully suppress T in combination with Estradiol. I've only ever heard of a single person getting a tumour on low doses. The risk is minimal. It exists and is of course higher than if you were to take nothing, but it's minimal
@muuubiee3 жыл бұрын
@@ストラウスラクサス 50-100mg is the standard dose the so called "enods" or endocrine doctors prescribe. Even after I had gotten a tumor, she kept me on 100mg cypro while giving me almost no E. Fortunately my prolactin got lowered and the tumor disappeared. But 1/1000 get so severe tumors that they HAVE to be surgically removed, because they're a threat to the patient (if they get to the bone wall you can't remove it, and they keep on squishing your brain until you get neurological damage). It's up to yourself to be safe when you take hormones, don't trust some uneducated endo.

Hi Mathilda 💛 I am from Spain and in my country is currently being debated to approve a law which would allow trans people to access hormone replacement therapy without a psychologist/psychiatrist consent. This law it's very polemic and I would like to know your opinion as a trans girl 🙏🏼💛 Personally I wonder how it affects trans people when they are underage and the legal responsability for starting such a hard process relies on the legals tutors/parents. @alastairpaisley66683 жыл бұрын
I understand that estrogen causes the body to undergo physiological changes (e.g. fat redistribution and wider hips). But there Is something on which I'm unclear: Does estrogen also cause an individual to exhibit more feminine-like mannerisms? Or, is that something a transgender woman naturally exhibits before undergoing her transition? Or, is it something a transgender woman has to learn upon transitioning? Also, I recall you saying in a previous video that you had to learn how to speak in a more feminine, high-pitch voice because you had already undergone male puberty before transitioning, resulting in testosterone permanently changing your voice box. Do you think that, if you had started HRT earlier and therefore bypassed male puberty and any changes to your voice box, you would have naturally developed a feminine voice without ever having to learn how to elevate the pitch of your voice?

Cis men can take extra testosterone to get bigger muscles, but it shrinks their testicles and causes them to not make as much testosterone. Moreover, their body will respond by increasing estrogen production to balance the effect leading to breast development, water retention and other female trait characteristics. Similarly, taking exogenous estrogen in a cis female with normal levels could increase female characteristics at the cost of raising testosterone levels and developing male traits such as facial hair, enlarged clitoris, deepening the voice, etc, so there is always a risk with taking hormones. Moreover, if a cis female lacked much breast or hip fat development with normal estrogen levels then extra estrogen will probably not have much difference because their genetics didn't favor those developments. There would only be an effect if their body would have favored that development, but they didn't produce much estrogen.

I was born with such an extremely high level of Testosterone that I had body hair at age 9 and shaved at age 11. At age 38, my Testosterone level totally bottomed out and my Estrogen level has been so high that my body literally started transitioning itself, although to be fair, I was born Intersex so I naturally look more feminine than CIS gender Males.
