.. at least you don't have to worry about your pop tart crumbs getting in between the keys on this

I have a love/hate relationship with these "silicone"-ish covers. The poptart crumbs/liquid imperviousness is good..., but sooner or later, they seem to age...they get shiny after use....is it easy/possible/affordable to replace?

I don't think that a piano sound should be pitched. It's too much of a classical sound to be changed. We're used to specific sounds. For pitch effects there are synths. It's the same with framerates. We're not used to framerates like 60fps for movies. Doesn't mean that it shouldn't be, just that it takes some time to get used to them

+Sam Masghati but this isnt replacing the piano? Its offering something different in the framework laid out by the shape of a piano. its not one or the other. if you dont like this, dont buy it, if you like the way a piano plays/feels/its attributes then buy a piano. whats wrong with experimenting? hundreds of years ago the piano would never have been invented if someone had said something similar.
@rich10514148 жыл бұрын
Good thing this isn't a piano then. It is a seaboard, or more broadly, a synthesizer. It is NOT a piano. It just happens to use a piano inspired layout. People were already doing this with pedals and jogwheels, this is just a combination.

How is this different than the Haken Continuum?
@jordanzish10 жыл бұрын
At first glance, the sharps and flats are in a more tradition arrangement, sort of above the white keys rather than in between them. They are definitely very similar, although I'm sure they both have a different feel in terms of what it's like to actually use them. I'm sure the slippery freedom of the Continuum versus the gooey resistance of the Seaboard lend themselves to different playing styles. So I think they're similar but both very cool, or were you hoping for a fight?
@wakaoo11110 жыл бұрын
Oh not at all. Thank you for the answering. I think seaboard will have a shorter learning curve as well. I would love to get a hand's on. What you said made a difference.
@jordanzish10 жыл бұрын
Sudhir Tatavarthi Definitely think it would have a shorter learning curve, and no problem, but definitely don't take my word as gospel; I haven't used either, nor am I much of a pianist. Most of my musical experience is on guitar.

How the fuck can you justify a $2,500 price tag on this though? I could literally engineer these sounds...
@ShaunMcCready8 жыл бұрын
have you ever played with the controller??? I just tried it yesterday and im telling you... its fun enough that you could play with it for 2500 hours, thus makin it $1 per hour.. I think its the instrument of the future
@vtownhood8 жыл бұрын
Shaun McCready Maybe, but dude I could literally engineer every single sound he made verbatim on FL Studio VST's. It may take me a little longer but I can do it for free as opposed to spending this much money on it. If you want this for live performance and have the money, I understand. However, for people like me that don't do live performance, (anymore) it's HIGHLY unnecessary.
