This is the only magic content I watch anymore. No salt even when he’s getting bad beats, points out opponents misplays in a way that isn’t condescending, and effectively communicates his thought process . Very chill and plays interesting decks too. Oh...and never scoops early either. Lets opponents have their fun. Best Mtg content anywhere.

He's the only one I watch regularly, a big plus for me is he doesn't pander by ever crying about the meta (or meta decks), though there are a few jokes every now and then. It just gets so repetitive if you watch MtG content.

Spaced92 oh for sure! Yet, rarely do you see him pilot a meta deck on KZbin. I like that, too. Watching him beat up on fotw decks with what in my hands would be pure jank is extremely satisfying. It’s thoughtful deck building and a clarity of thought as to what’s in his 60 and what’s likely in his opponent’s 60. And when he does beat those meta decks, no crowing about it, just “on to the next one”. I definitely appreciate that.

Can't believe how fast the years fly by, i remember being introduced to magic through your duels videos, the warp world, 5C good stuff etc. I still remember that drake haven deck, happy to see how far you've grown and will happily watch for many more years to come!

Until recently I had Dotp 2015 on my Android, and still found people to play with often. The Warp World deck was indeed a lot of fun. Unfrotunately the app is no longer supported by Google Play... that made me quite sad.

I think Drake haven + song of creation could be pretty sweet. The free discard at the end of turn could pretty much garantee you make at least 2 2/2 flyers for 2 mana each turn...

I've been watching your vids since duels and trying out your decks too. I was always annoyed at having card rarities limited. It feels so much better playing how the game is supposed to be. I always wanted to play a zombie deck with 4x dread wanderer, 4x liliana's mastery, and 4x cryptbreaker. I was sad Innistrad block wasn't in the game yet, but! By some miracle cryptbreaker made it to Historic! Which feels pretty good that I get to play that deck now. Anyways; love your videos. No other youtuber beats your content!

I still play magic duels on my iPhone. When I got a new iPhone I had to go to my app history to download magic duels because it was longer in the Apple App Store. I play a few variations of drake haven decks and there fun.

43:36 as the board stands, Shark Typhoon for three at the end of the opponent turn is exactly lethal. Cleave could beat you of course but you lose to it anyway, I suppose, 'cause of the deathtouch of Rhonas. In the end opponent makes a horrible play, so it works too I guess :)

With the line he takes I don't see him losing to cleave. He take a safe line and works fine. But I think the opponent make the atk wrong and feel like he give up anyway

I'm not sure. Could be, but keep in mind that Rhonas with +2/+0 and Cleave attached (possible with the land drop and everyone attacks) deals 15 damage even if goes blocked by the huge Fox. If Rhonas attacks with Cleave the other two creatures must be blocked too. So I don't see him survive the Cleave, but I could be wrong. My comment is pointed to at least take in consideration when you have lethal on board.

Focus on Historic. Standard rotates rather quickly, so it really sucks to focus on it if you're a starter.

If you got a lot of money to throw away ya might as well do it. Magic is most fun when you can make whatever decks you want. If not, then be ready to grind. I would say their season pass is worth the value if you plan of grinding

1. Check daily deals 2. Do daily's, weekly's, etc. 3.find a deck you wanna play before hand. Watch some videos on if you can. 4. Mono red is a decent start but blue white flyers is also budget friendly and fun. 5. Dont listen to people saying start with historic. You have to have a decent collection to even complete. You'll get there after awhile. 6. Uninstall and forget about about this soul sucking succubus of a game. Invest in equity like a house lol.

I'm curious to see how Temur Adventures holds up without the mana base to support it. Unless Zendikar offers a lot of support, I can't see tri color decks doing particularly well. MaRo already said no fetches in Zendikar, so I'm curious where they go with it in a "lands matter" set. Rotation is definitely gonna be a shake up on the meta.

@@elnatanbitensky8314 you are 100% correct however it did win me a lot of games where my early game didnt get the damage it needed in and I only had a zenith flare at about 7-10. Vito could come and one shot it. Plus he felt decent with the Bishop for chip damage and I had a tiny bit of life link for the mono reds in that format. Again its not an ideal card but I was surprised at how well it fit also

@@elnatanbitensky8314 oh its for sure not ideal. Once you ad that third color in a format with zero untap lands you basically kill aggro goodbye. The deck comes down to being really good vs red while having some OTK potential vs decks in the late game who leave their shields down. I think its jank for sure but at least when I was playing it the whole format was either red or stuff even jankier haha Thanks for the comment friend

Why is it "cycle or discard" can you ever cycle without discarding?

So it also gets triggered by opponent's discard effects, eg they cast thought erasure it triggers

You don't technically discard the cycle card. You cycle it. Cycle and discard are two different effects and Drake Haven offers protection from discarding. You can see protection from discard effects on other cards like Tamiyo or Null Hide Ferrox.
