I've quite liked Deputy of Detention in a deck like this cause it can sweep up all illusion tokens from the blinked apparition or keep stuff like a Krenko somewhat in check. It also grows the shepherd like crazy if it gets to do its thing!

Panharmonicon is too slow in the current historic meta where aggro and combo decks consistently win on turn 4. A four mana card that doesn't impact board or get value by itself straight away is dead in most games. You could probably sideboard 1-2 copies in Bo3 against against control decks that aren't running artifact hate though, cutting out the portable holes and apparitions for a few more value engines of your own.

You can get to mythic playing jank and cool combos you don't always have to only play the top decks that is such a bad way to look at magic and trust me I get to mythic every season but just play what you enjoy.

i use to play a blink deck close to this one last week, Drannith Magistrate is a real fine addition to this deck, flick the elite spell binder… watch your oponent can't play any spell and enjoy. It's also a great combo breaker against Tibalt trickery and Mizzix mastery.

Pity there isn't an AWOL-like Arena card that goes: "Exile target creature, then exile it from exile and put it into exiled-forever zone (read: burn it to ashes and feed the ashes to a goat and burn its droppings)

Exile target creature. Delete all cards with the same name from its owner's hand, library, graveyard, exile, Arena library, and the next 150 packs its owner opens. Cards with that name cost its owner 10 mythic rare wildcards to craft until 150 packs have been opened.

when i first began playing there was no exile key word, it just said remove it from the game, and it was. now exile has become graveyard 2. im not complaining cause it makes for some cool synergies, but i do miss the "complete annihilation" aspect lol.

A fun (for you not for your opponent) combo with Skyclave Apparition and Ephemerate is to cast the ephemerate in response to the Apparition's ETB trigger. Then when its LTB trigger happens there isn't an exiled card so they don't get anything. So you can exile two cards and give them only 1 token

My first jumpstart is actually Flicker/Humans themed, with Soul Herder as Flicker core and Wingsteed Trainer from Humans (conjure 1W 2/1 Pegasus to hand on flicker/attack). Seeing this video feels like "this is what that jumpstart deck should evolve to".

I think 1 or 2 copies of a creature that gives perpetual lifelink would be great in this deck. It's a 2/1 lifelink by itself, which is decent in Aggro match ups, but it's especially good with Soul Herder, as lifelink persists through blinking, and you can give all your creatures lifelink (and most importantly, soulherder itself).

The trick about that is there are two discreet versions of it--the exile and then immediately return to the battlefield (like ephemerate), and the exile and return next end step (like Yorion). Granted you could call one blink and one flicker, but I still think it's likely to cause unnecessary confusion.

24:46 even if they topdeck mastery, they would not achieve anything as thalia also taxes the copycast. (Opponent needs 6 mana to cast the Mastery for 5 and then the copy for 1)

I think *Drannith Magistrate* could do the trick : -Same casting cost -Large butt allows him to block if necessary and to resist the odd Stomp -Strictly hoses : degenerate combo decks with Trickery , Lurrus of the Dream Den, Dreadhorde Arcanist, Kroxa (and all escape cards) , Realmwalker dressed as an elf , every creature that went on an adventure (generally Stomping Giant and Brazen Borrower) , Bolas's Citadel -Provides a fun synergy with Elite Spellbinder : as long as the magistrate sits on the battlefield, all the stuff exiled with the spellbinder is uncastable -Has a degree in law, being a magistrate : always useful to have a friend with some degree of legal expertise -Reasonable and calm ; sports graying , gentlemanly hair Other than that , for the same 1W mana cost , *Containment Priest* can be used as a strong gotcha against decks trying to cheat creatures in , *Lumbering Lightshield* is a cheaper option (at common) that can raise the cost of a single card on ETB (thus very synergic with the deck in general) , 2 more *Professors of Symbology* allow easier acces to lessons (especially Academic Probation, useful against obvious combo decks) , *Meddling Mage* says no to a specific card of your choosing (for UW) and *Countless Gears Renegade* always produces servos when returning from exile There could be other valid options that i'm missing , but I hope this small list can help !

@@Stickyrolls123 at common we have *Lumbering Lightshield* and *Countless Gears Renegade* (both in historic) ;from standard 2022 (AFR to be precise) you could try a couple of *Loyal Warhounds* , but they don't really give you that "control and slow down" function that makes Thalia so useful. At one mana more you could try *Priest of Ancient Lore* for the draw and the small life gain ; moreover in a few days the new Innistrad set will be out and a nice card from it could be *Search Party Captain* (at common) , allowing for cheapish card draw :)

When I first saw the headlight of this video, I thought that it would be the deck that exiles sll the permanents the opponent controls - It would be much much more fun... =) This deck is pretty weak and boring. During all this video Soulherder didn't "shine" even once (it grew 3/3 at maximum and never was a win condition).
