Ponza is really good at modern rn It shreds tron (land destruction, magus of the moon) It overwhelms death's shadow decks (as it can apply tons of pressure and they're already at low hp cuz of shadow) It is also pretty good vs jund

I could have used this the other day for my Gruul Aggro pump deck. Literally lost two rounds or more to infect. Just Inkmoth Nexus + little slip cards like blossoming defense or pump spells that used life instead of mana. Thank you for helping me maybe stand against that next time.

Great deck, LVD! I quit Arena after playing since closed beta, tired of the client, economy and overall horrible management of everything, but this is the kind of deck I'd want to try out. I'm a huge believer that with the ridiculous ramp tools printed in the last few years, LD is a much needed archetype. Hopefully we get more tools for a competitive Bo3 build.

@@jerodast They are better, on average. I mean, would you spend a mythic wildcard on a 2/2 bear for 2 mana with no text? Obviously not. But you would spend it on 2/2 haste with reach that potentially draws you a card. Rares and mythics are obviously better (on average) than non rare/mythic cards. There are obviously exceptions (many uncommons are better than some rares), but in general this rule holds. MA rares definitely deserve rare WCs more than average rares in the current sets, so it makes sense that they were printed as rares.
