Thanks for the video! After watching, I built a version of this in MTG Arena and I'm doing really well with it. Feels great to bring back an opponent's Vraska or Crackling Drake with The Eldest Reborn. Those little 1/1 vamps are awesome chip damage in the control matchups. I would have never thought to add those commons!

Hey Dev, I've been playing this deck a bunch in Bo1s on MTG Arena and I gotta give you props, it's really nicely tuned against the field. For anyone else in the same boat, in order to save a couple wild cards I made couple substitutions from my collection that I think are really overperforming: 2x Kitesail Freebooter, and 2x Blood Operative (replacing 1x Plaguecrafter, 1x Ravenous Chupacabra, 2x Cast Down). I also used basic Swamps instead of the Cabal Strongholds; 25 lands in the deck mean I typically have all the mana I need. Finally, I unpacked a Doom Whisperer which I used instead of crafting a Bone Dragon. With those substitutions and the free GameAwards cards, I found this deck to be really easy on the wildcards and very fun, give it a shot!

First game just beaten a fully pimped out Izzet deck - answered all of their threats, stole Niv 3 times and they eventually milled themselves looking for solutions. Great fun! Thx again

I really want to use Desecrated tomb with Boneyard Parley. Exile 5 cards from your graveyard (they left the graveyard so the ability triggers), create up to 5 bats, and get other stuff. It just doesn't end up getting the wonderful effect I see happening in my head. Keep up the good work.

I love mono black. I got a deck that is close to this but with more creatures, doom whisperer, prophets in main and two Arguels Blood Fast, Doomed Dissenter, Reassembling Skeleton. Sideboard is more kill stuff and discard. But, what I have added on top is two bane fires and two treasure maps in main! Treasure maps really helps alot with getting the right cards, getting more mana, and also city's blessing for the prophets. What the deck does is that it grinds and survives and finishes off with any of the many win conditions. And Banefire is an amazing card for just about anything.

Love this deck. Been grinding something similar on arena with much love and enemy rage quits! I originally made it as a home for burglar rat but ended loving it. Cool mono black aggro. I like running divest against creature heavy decks. Plus, it is great to see what your looking at. Another great card that is fairly cheap is direfleet poisoner. Flash death touch to get rid of pesky creatures. Just on the ground though.

I play a homebrew sultai build for standard and I was running 2x Doom Whisper's and recently changed them to 2x Bone Dragon, I can say without a doubt in today's standard I think Bone Dragon is better as long as you can fill your graveyard. I was facing a Nexus control deck and he tried to exile my dragon so I targeted is with Cast Down and killed it and returned it at the end step

The only downsides I've had are it dies to Lava Coil and it cannot trade 1-for-1 against a Carnage Tyrant, but at least your dragon will comeback for sure at some point if you double block, but I also play plaguecrafter for that

I´m curious on why you did not play (nor even consider among the possibles) Kitesail Freebooter and the Imp. They might be subject to removal, but they seriously tax the opponent. And combining them with Isareth is awesome! Thanks Dev!!

Catastrophe. I feel like it's a personal opinion kind of card. For me I've gotten screwed not having creatures on field when I needed them. I like it better in a token build myself.

I do think the card is badass, and an awesome threat if it sticks. It just sucks on the occasions when you get burned by it. You could always try it in a few games with friends before fnm and see how it goes. I personally love glass cannon builds. I love taking risks.

Have you considered running 1 or 2 copies of Detection Tower to deal with the Hexproof creatures that mono-black (without sacrifice effects) has trouble dealing with?

What stops us from splashing blue for just negates, being able to cast both haves of actually replace the split cards.. I want to take this deck to local tourney but wanted thoughts on; + 4 negate +4 ?? The jump start card draw Maybe getting 4 duress into the main deck I’m not exactly sure what to cut but it seems like we beat creature based aggro without problems and duress/negate would help a LOT vs most/all the stuff we would struggle against and would almost never be dead accept against exactly mono green (that seems to be hopeless against us in mono black and could be even more so after we sideboard even in a version that makes a light splash for blue.. honestly I just want the negates and may as well add the card draw.) What do you think? And what would you cut?

i did as well for 4 copies of thief of sanity and the 3/3 flying hex death touch is funny but i also added the recur graveyard bird to reuse my chup's. Nothing feelz better then using your opponents spells against them.
