I think one thing worth noting is the fact that as you said early in the video a lot of rares are more for sideboard in other formats. What this means to me is there is a lower chance of getting ran over by bomb rares. There is always that person that somehow is able to pull like 5 bomb rares in the same colors but I think this time around it is going to come down more to deck building.

Want to give a shout-out to mill in limited. Patient Rebuilding is a pretty nice rare, and has Psychic Corrosion and Millstone as repeatable effects as well. If you get Patient Rebuilding and Psychic corrosion together, it's pretty disgusting.

Rabid Bite is WAY better than an ordinary fight spell and combos stupidly well with Deathtouch creatures (which green has at common). It's close to being premium removal only held back by absolutely needing a creature to use it with. The critical distinction is that the opponent's creature doesn't hit back.

I've been told that death touch can't kill a creature with first strike - you said it could kill anything I'm still knew to magic so clarity would help I enjoy your channel and your advice as well as deck construction

hi penny! well death touch can kill anything yes. yet first strike let's the creature with it deal damage first . during the damage step ( after blockers are declared ), damage is dealt between attackers and blockers at the same time. if a creature with death touch blocks a creature with first strike, if the creature with first strike is not strong enough to kill the blocking creature, after receiving damage, the creature with deathtouch will deal damage itself. another example is having a creature with power and toughness 1/1 who has both first strike and deathtouch. if it were to block a 8/8, it will deal 1 damage before receiving damage, and thanks to deathtouch, that 1 damage will kill that huge 8/8 immediately. hope it helped!

Let's say 3/1 first strike against 1/3 deathtouch. The 3/1 deals 3 damage first, and kills the deathtouch before it deals damage. However, say it was a 1/4 deathtouch. The 3/1 first strike would deal 3 damage to the 1/4, leaving it at 1/1 until end of turn, and it would destroy the 3/1, regardless if it was 3/1 or 3/999.

Gigantosaurus- GGGGG for a 10/10 creature I think would be good enough to mention for prerelease and drafts. I feel that this creature would probably make the pool become a monogreen deck or green with a splash of one other color. Even at rare this would be worth talking about or am I wrong.

Daniel Hodgins Card is terrible in sealed and limited because of its mana-cost, youll never play it by turn five, probably not even by turn 8-9 either. And when you do itll just get chump blocker or removed straight away. I love the card but unfourtunatley its just too hard to play in any deck that isnt mono green, and this isnt really a mono colour format.

Na. No Trample or other evasion. 5 green mana is a MASSIVE cost, such that you may never see it, and for a card that gets chumped all day that’s not impressive.

It's a rare, so in sealed you must get lucky enough to get a great green pool to play a monogreen with splash.

Went 3-1 in a blue green deck with it that ran 12 Forests and five islands, and turn 6 or 7 was normal. Also very powerful to cheat into play with vivien's invocation. Found that against anyone that wasn't maindecking five+ removal spells often failed to have an answer. But Mirror Image was the broken card in that deck. It was either copying a card advantage/ tempo creature or a huge threat. It is good from druid of the cowl to colossal dreadmaw. The deck made it so electrify and spore swarm on their own couldn't be the answer and often times made it so I was two or more for oneing any time they wanted to deal with a creature costing more than 4. Skyrider Patrol also did silly things as did the transmorphgation wand. Gigantosaurus should never see play in anything outside of a deck that accelerate into additional green sources and give, but those tools do exist in sealed amd can be built around in draft. He is a reasonable 7 drop in any heavy green deck that sometimes you can play sooner and a great target for some of the most broken cards in the format.

Chris Fatality13 5G to be exact which does make it less serviceable in the limited environment. The only deck that could consistently pay its cost is Mono Green and even if you'll manage to form one in Pre-release Sealed Deck games... Yeah that's unlikely. And even then to get it out early enough for it to not be immediately blown away with single removal spell you'd need a ramp. And even if it survives your opponent can block it for days especially if you'll run into any token strategy...

I didn’t forget Palladia Mors. Murder can kill her *after she loses hexproof, so I think pointing her out is a bit of a reach. Phylactery Lich is a trap. It’s very difficult to cast without 12+ black sources in your deck, and even if you can cast it, you have to have an artifact, and even then, that artifact has to stick around. If your opponent is trying to jam Lich, I’d count that as a win for you. There’s also the fact that those are pretty edge cases considering one is rare and the other is mythic. The chances you’ll have to play against either one at the prerelease are incredibly slim. All that said, I guess you got me on a technicality. I’m not counting Palladia, because murder *can* kill her, but I gotta give you the point for Lich

He said it kills practically everything except maybe Chromium sometimes. It seemed implied to me he didn't mean it kills exactly 100% of creatures but instead like 99%. You're busting his balls over less than 1%. As far as Lich goes, good luck with that plan. It needs another card to even work. Murder is pack 1 pick 1 material, best removal spell in the set, and a huge reason to play black if possible. Take it or leave it.

Most commons and Uncommon in all colors are quite disappointing in this set. In fact, some colors are terrible (white + black). I give this set a C-, even with the decent planeswalkers and the multicolor legend dragons.

I don't like sets where on one hand you have useless rares because they were not designed for limited and then have crazy power creep bomb rares. When I cast the bomb rare I feel like I am cheating or when it is casted on me I say to myself: "You lucky mofo. GG." I wish they would have a pauper draft. Or less dumb rares.

The situation required to make Fraying Omnipotence an “X for 1” requires you to have no board state, no cards in hand, and your opponent has a board state of multiple creatures and multiple cards in hand... and you HALVED YOUR LIFE TOTAL TO CAST THE THING. If you are in a situation where it is worth casting, you are dead whether or not you cast it. The card is bad.

I think its supposed to be played in the black white life gain deck where you can recover quickly from the spell or in a black red deck to put your opponent into burn range and without answer. Helps that both pairings come with token producers, and black has sacrifice synergies. You can't look at it like you would a fair card. It requires build around in limited. Life gain, token producers and card draw all make this asymmetric. (Balance, pox, staxx style decks)

I don't think it's the best card ever but it does allow you to potentially get back in the game from behind. i.e. You have 0-2 creatures, 10 life or less, 0-2 cards in hand. Opponent has 3+ creatures, 10+ life, 3+ cards in hand. You would lose 0-1 creatures, 0-1 cards in hand, and 5 or less life. Opponent would lose 2 or more creatures, 2 or more cards in hand, and 5 or more life. I could see this card stealing some games for sure. Probably not worth the slot compared to other options but not completely unplayable.
