Honestly, standard isn't even a real format anymore. It's not competitive, it's just routinely solved and then shaken up and then solved again. WotC has been power creeping their game for so long now that no one can completely blame any one card or standard environment for being broken when it is clearly the devs' faults for not playtesting their own designs in their own environments.

I was doing a War of the Spark draft, and the person passing to me gave me Nissa, Who Shakes the World. I'm like "Dude are you sure??" and he said he wasn't playing green. I drafted her and won every single game, undefeated til the end. I somehow played her every game and her Forest Army stomped em all!

I suggest you split the multicoloured into two coloured (guilds) and three coloured (shards/wedges) if there's enough walkers with points
@StefanWB
@StefanWB 3 жыл бұрын
I was curious, so I looked up how many three-colour planeswalkers there were, because I assumed there weren't enough for a top eight. And I was right. There are only six three-coloured planeswalker cards ever printed in a Standard-legal set - four printings of Nicol Bolas (including the M19 one that starts as a creature), Sarkhan Unbroken from Dragons of Tarkir, and Narset of the Ancient Way from Ikoria. Commander set PWs and Modern Horizons PWs just don't have the opportunity to accrue points without ever being in Standard, especially the Commander walkers which are only ever legal in Legacy and Vintage.

Important thing about flip garruk is that the planeswalker uniqueness rule was different when it was legal. It was played sometimes as a way to kill 2GGG Garruk with the legend rule at the time.

@marpj6138 3 жыл бұрын
@@TempestDacine I can see an argument for being better than Reid, but Reid has a roleplayer (great from the side) while Advocate wants to be the engine, that means Reid can be played in a larger variety of decks. But Advocate has really unfortunate that her competition for the 5 mana spot has the number one in the list which has just a better engine I agree that its better than Primal Hunter But I dont think she is better than Vital Force (which plays so much better than it reads, and being playable in both legacy and modern shows that) nor World Waker (this walker has played in 3 color decks without duals which means her second +1 has useless, that is how powerfull she has against control. And in monogreen she has just stupid, imagine droping her and courser of kruphix turn 3)

Mentioning Nissa who Shakes the World without at all mentioning Breeding Pool feels like a bit of a crime. The fact she could untap a land and hold up a negate or essence scatter put her miles above other green planeswalkers. Part of what made he so strong was infact how well she fit into control decks, almost always interested in running blue. Not to mention the significant chunk of her points that came as a follow up act to Oko.

Yeah.. a Nissa who Shakes the World.. is such an amazing combo card. I decimated games with my Turn 4 Ultimates with Nissa.. Even in Arena, playing historic.. its a consistent Turn 4 or 5 win usually because most people can not come back from that. Turn 1 Forest + Mana Dork Elf. Turn 2 Forest or in Historic Cascading Cataracts and Cultivate. Turn 3 Forest and Nissa.. Make Forest into a Creature or better.. the Cascading Cataracts into an Indestructible Creature. Turn 4 Cast Planewide Celebration and Ultimate Nissa. ITs so satisfying doing that...

Nissa Vital Force is way more powerful than people give it credit for. Ive only played her in commander. Most people only use in land decks, but her -3 and Emblem is fantastic for any deck that runs green. Being able to get the emblem the next turn after she hits the field, is very powerful!
@Blackvolttage
@Blackvolttage 3 жыл бұрын
When your green 5 mana pw makes a 5/5 its quite a chore for people to avoid the ultimate, specially if you can get her out early. I think people often underrate her in commander, but more times than not its just straight up 5 mana tatyova in emblem form.

Just because you uploaded this video at 3AM my time doesn't mean that I'm not going to do my damned best to think of a good way to shill for "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"! Although with not a single card here having any vintage points, it's going to be hard to think of something, so instead I'll say that I really appreciate Garruk, Primal Hunter in my Multani, Maro-Sorcerer EDH deck, because drawing 21 cards is *fun!*

Emergent Ultimatium. Grab Nissa Who Shakes The World, Liliana Dreadhorde General and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider. Lily+ clex is out of the question. Your opponent loses the game on the spot so you either get Nissa clex and ult, stripping your deck of all its bad draws and winning in a few turns with a stream of 6/6 indestructible lands or Lili/Nissa and losing with those two in play is damn near impossible. Thats my Explorer deck lol

Static is being used here colloquially, not in a rules sense. Here, he was using the term to describe the abilities on Planeswalkers that are not loyalty abilities (which I have always heard referred to as being a planeswalker's static ability and I've yet to hear someone say that Saheeli doesn't use the stack)

In my opinion, cards that have a massive score, but only in standard, are a design fail. It means those cards didn't have an answer in Standard (so everyone played them) and they are unplayable anywhere else (because other formats have proper answers)

That not always the case with cards that only have standart points. Often they fullfill a specific niche that they are the best for in Standard but are outclassed by other cards in other formats. Or they need really good support to function and the cards that exist to support it just don't cut it in other formats.

I dont think that NWSTW being number one has a surprise to anyone that play standard, she has everywhere, even in our decks. Now while she is the most powerful, and Vital Force is my favorite for EDH (happy to discover that she see play in legacy, but I can see why even at 5 mana) the one that has a special place in my heart is World Waker, that monogreen devotion from Theros-khans still my favorite standard deck and has so fun to play - plus turn 3 Nissa into courser of kruphix (also turn 3) has always beautiful
