If you ever got enough data/candidates for a top 10 Common/Uncommon top 10 bombs (meaning commons/uncommons that reached a top 10 win rate in a format) that would be a cool list to see.

I had compiled a list but accidentally deleted it so here's the tl;dr of my findings from newest to older. PIO: Far//Away MH3: Amped Raptor & Writhing Chrysalis WOE: Imodane's Recruiter LTR: Saruman's Trickery & Eomer of the Riddermark (Nazgul; Fear, Fire, Foes!; and Coracious Fell Beast were 11th, 12th, and 13th respectively) SIR: Lingering Souls & Fiend Hunter & Sever the Bloodline & Drogskol Captain ONE: Annex Sentry & Bladehold War-Whip DMU: Nishoba Brawler was at 11th and Wingmantle Chaplain at 13th :( SNC: Disciplined Duelist & Inspiring Overseer I went until KHM and that's all the commons/uncommons from non-alchemy sets that were top 10 in their set

Insane thing about Mu Yaling: The turn she enters she can almost essentially crew 3. You summon her, she creates the 3/2, then she crews the 3/2, and then you use her 3/2 to crew a Crew 3 vehicle. It means almost anything can be crewed the turn she comes down

I just realized the horror of having to deal with more than 1 Afterburner Expert. Each of them can bring the rest back. If your opponent doesn't have a way to kill them all at once it's basically gg in limited.

(10:27) If you have a flier with first strike and another one without first strike (or just one flier with double strike), then I think that means you would be able to draw two cards with Mu Yanling's ability, since you'd deal damage at two separate times. That makes her even better if you have some first/double strike stuff to work with.

Skysovereign is gonna be a huge bomb that didn't appear in the video. It's gonna go in 100% of decks that open it, good at any stage of the game, and keep you super open when you draft it.

Not to mention you can put counters on Sab-Sunen to allow it to attack and then draw cards again!

There isn't a good way to do that between main phase and attack every turn in the set itself (no luminarch aspirant type effects) so any time you want to do that you will need to spend a card or maybe an exhaust ability to do so.

Mu Yanling isn't capped to one card per combat. If you add a first or double strike, flying creature, you'll get a second trigger.

Demonic Junker being worded that way, it can "sacrifice" one of your own creatures and also destroy one of your opponents, insane vehicle.

Aetherspark is top 5 for me. I understand it doesn't affect the board much, but I initially missed how it gains counters for any damage done by the creature on your turn. There will be very few situations in draft where the +1 won't allow you to attack and almost immediately get it to 10+ counters. If you can put this on a 4/4 and swing it is at 10 the turn you play it. It takes very little to ultimate it and still have it be on the board. You do need some card draw to make it worthwhile, but honestly I think even in limited it is superior to your bottom 5. If you draft one I encourage you to play it and see how powerful it actually is.

Exhaust really feels like Inverse Adventure. You play the creature first, then the spell-like effect. Of course it's way more vulnerable that way.

i loved AAtchik, at my first draft i put it in making seven blockers, it got destroyed, next turn i reanimated it making 8 insects and attacked. Busted

im kinda suprised loot didnt make it onto the list. Like a 6 mana 2/4 double strike vigilance haste that can immediately tap to draw 3 cards, seems nuts, and seem like if it gets removed at minimum it will be a 4 or 5 for 1.

@@olleekenberg loot and the aetherspark should have been in the top 5 at least. those two and sab-sunen are the three strongest and most versatile cards in the set. having them in the honorable mentions makes no sense in a list of the strongest cards.

2:40 sorry, I have a question about Aatchik. You said that the buff "counts insects other than the ones she creates". Wont her tokens "die" and hit the graveyard too and Aatchik would see them? Or was there a change in the rules I am not aware of...? As for Agonasaur... would it be too strong if it said: "When this card enters play or when you cycle this"?

Regarding Aatchik, she does count her tokens. Nizzahon meant she counts insects other than her tokens BESIDES her tokens

I do believe Nizzahon is a little too high on it, but it certainly could have made the bottom half of this list. It's not unlike Deathmist Raptor, a very old card that was a giga bomb, but we've long evolved.

Regarding Sab-Sunen: are there any reliable ways to manipulate the number of counters on her (either via adding or removing them), so that she always has an even number of counters when it matters? That way you never draw 2 cards but she's always ready to attack/block. Or if you want the 2 cards more than you want the body, make her always have odd counters.

The two halves of SabSunen care about different phases, so it’s possible to draw two and have a big creature every turn if you have a repeatable counter effect like Perilous Snare. Start your turn even, so SS’s triggers turns her odd and draws. Then add the even counter before combat. Most limited repeatable counter triggers like that are during combat, so she couldn’t attack but could still block every turn.

There are no luminarch aspirant type effects in the format so there is no way to do so consistently, if you want to do that you will need to spend a card or an exhaust ability during your 1st main phase.

I do think you underestimate the life loss on 9. Depending on the game state, you literally cannot attack into it or the blocks will kill you.

Call me crazy but i cant see chandra being a bomb. Making vehicles instead of creature tokens, even if they are much larger than those would be seems a verry mid ability, especially considering she doesn't have removal built in.

Sab Sunen will not, in fact, be able to block after you play her and pass the turn. That is unless Sab Sunen was played on MP2 . I would assume she will be played on MP1 the majority of the time, which will allow a draw 2 the turn she enters

By the time you are casting things during your first main phase, it is past the start of your first main phase. So she will, in fact, be able to block. She has 0 counters.

They shut of mad a mechanic that’s the opposite of speed like it starts on and you shut it off for a cost and a pay off. Like speed demon could of been each turn you draw a card lose a counter goes up each turn and you gotta pay like 1BB to shut it off and it get lifelink till end of turn that’d be cool
