I was super happy upon realizing it was Esper control that you drew your other swordtooth. The power of two lands is strong even if it doesn't look like you won't necessarily have the lands immediately and him + multani was back breaking there.

Multani every turn is pretty good.
@asmrbyshimmer6 жыл бұрын
MTGGoldfish Absolutely, the part that got me though was how much of a hard time they had dealing with him. A Syncopate or Vraska's Contempt would have sucked but you pretty much turned every other answer they had into "discard this card to not die an early and horrible death." Beautiful.

Since we saw the blossoming defense coming you could have used spire on jadelight instead. So they would have either used BD on jadelight instead of Ghalta or let it go and used BD on Ghalta. Neither of which would have been lethal.
@TLThirteen6 жыл бұрын
49:04 put elves in front of jadelight and the other 3 infront of ghalta take 4 trample and fall to 3 life. Don't know why you scooped unless I'm missing something. Then get to deep freeze and hold up the land again to stall.
@envysart7976 жыл бұрын
I was playing a version of this deck with 4 Ballista as a way to stave off aggro - but I think the way to go is Temur splashing for Hour of Devastation, Abrade and The First Eruption. 1 damage to all creatures plus ramp (and it's easier to splash in a wedge)
@MTGGoldfish6 жыл бұрын
Temur splash seems pretty good.

I built a deck very similar to this in arena (3 Multani, 3 Tatyova), but I am a little less all in on ramp and instead play branchwalkers, jadelight rangers, and brontodons for early game interaction. The largest Multani I have had was 21/21 and it attacked through a kicked Josu Vess for lethal. Almost makes up for the dozens of times I have lost with it.

@fanhoop1876 жыл бұрын
Pedro do Valle 48:50 this situation was ripe for the patented Seth “let’s think about this “ moment. The next level play would be triple block ghalta chump jadelight wait for the defense that prolly doesn’t get cast. Go down to 2, next turn deep freeze draw out blossoming defense or pray for rivers rebuke draw, replay multani hope for not third blossoming defense. Go from there
@fanhoop1876 жыл бұрын
Actually wait in that case Seth would still be dead if opponent let deep freeze resolve and attacked and blossoming defense on the unblocked llanowar elves the following turn. Ghalta inevitability >< so it’s either rivers rebuke or I guess hour of promise chumps

@bryantan42286 жыл бұрын
Mending shuts down mill. Your opponent doesn't need a dedicated mill deck to mill you out, they just need a couple Ipnu Rivulets. Personally, I think that this deck needs more graveyard synergies to really make Mending more than a sideboard card. Mending is great if your opponent is trying to grind you out or mill you, but it's mediocre otherwise. If this deck had a couple of those ETB explorers that would be good.

@stephenlofton54036 жыл бұрын
I feel like I see way too much exile recently in standard for Multani to be a reliable wincon but maybe all the mono red decks from the PT will change that. I suppose rivulet is fine but isn't a big-mana enchantment like Convergence, Splendor or even something like Zacama better if you are going this huge on mana? Then again the mono red showing was really bad here but hey that happens when your deck doesn't have relevant plays until turn 4.
@drakeconsumerofsoulsandche57616 жыл бұрын
Stephen Lofton for me multani is just any number of finishers. If you have preferance, use it
