Ive been a Mt Dew junkie my whole life. Im 45 now. I drank on average 1.5 to 2 liters a day (no joke), still do. Number one reason I'm diabetic now. Zero is far better then Dt Dew... But I still drink regular on occasion.

@Cj Crabtree well I drink one 1 20 oz regular when I'm about to pass out because i make poor choices and skip breakfast and lunch to get to dinner telling myself never doing that again (I do) and then 2 20 oz diet sodas irritationally because well they are 2 for $3.50 when if I really cared I'd stop buying 20 oz bottles at quick check and buy 64 oz bottles at the supermarket.

True, I've been drinking Mountain Dew Diet for a while, is the only diet soda that tastes almost like the original, in my opinion... and I just tried the Mountain Dew Zero and I think I like it a little more so far

After drinking three - 6 packs of the Mt dew zero (I have a few left), I honestly started missing diet Mt dew after a while. At first I thought I was starting to like it better. To me diet Mt dew is more sweet and Mt dew zero has kinda a zing to it. That's the best way I can explain it. Diet Mt Dew for me hands down.

Diet Mtn Dew is my drink of choice for the past several years. Before that, I drank regular Mountain Dew. Now, I am unable to drink regular because it is too sweet. My first impression of the Mtn Dew Zero is a definitive thumbs down. I can totally tell the difference, and I do like the Zero at all. I was worried when I found out about this new addition, but I am so happy to learn that my favorite drink is not going away.

I’ll say this I’ve been drinking regular Mountain Dew since I was in high school which was like 11 years ago and the Mountain Dew zero sugar taste almost exactly like regular Mountain Dew except without all the sugar obviously so I like it and I might switch

Yay! Although I hadn’t tasted them side-by-side the Mtn Dew Zero was really good when I tried it yesterday! I got through high school on regular Mtn Dew and only went to Diet in recent history. All of us have to trust the label on anything we eat and I am happy they are being literal on the calorie count. Great review!

Yeah I use to drink regular Pepsi until I which to Pepsi zero and now the regular one is way too sweet for me but the pepsi zero tastes like it has more one a bite to it and I like that cause the flavor really stands out.

It'd be hard for me to compare those sodas because if I drink a zero vitamin water it tastes sweeter than if I try it after a sip of some sugary drink my boyfriend has. You do an amazing job, Tami!

I appreciate comparing ingredients, you guys are always so thourough! The government passed stricter laws for calorie labeling that came into effect in 2020. Diet drinks have always been 5-10 calories and now with these new laws they can't put zero calories anymore. Also, now they have to include the total amount of calories in a package, which I love, it's way clearer now! Tami taking off her glasses even though she wasn't putting on a mask made me laugh, so cute!

I would immediately get which is which on a blind test. Diet has a bit of a mango taste. Zero entirely lacks any fruity flavors and has more of a clear taste. I actually like both a lot.

I've never liked any diet drink version to the normal one. My boyfriend is actually allergic to aspartame. So he doesn't drink diet. Thanks for including the ingredients. Hi guys, that for great post. I think I’m the only 50 something who’s never drank MD. I dont know why but something lit a fire under my shoes and I’m putting this on my next delivery order. This was a fun video to watch. I know it's a year old, but Mt. Dew Zero just came to my part of the country. I prefer it over Dt. Dew. It doesn't have quite the Dt. soda aftertaste. The only thing that would make it better is if they released it in 2-liter bottles.

Diet Mountain Dew has been 10 calories for as long as I remember. May have been zero calories a long time ago when labeling got stricter. The difference between Diet pop/soda and Zero Sugar is the artificial sweetener used.

Mountain Dew Zero tastes like lemon koolaid was dumped in it. Maybe it's the orange concentrate that make Diet Mountain Dew better tasting to me. Also Zero has a weird aftertaste that I find unpleasant.

I used to drink 10 to 12 bottles of regular Mt Dew. Due to diabetes, I was drinking Pepsi max, then they came out with Mt Dew zero sugar. Tastes so much like regular dew that I've drank nothing else since. Diet Mt Dew tastes like metal to me.

i think if you normally drink diet/zero sugar soda,you aren't going to notice the after taste as much because you are adapted to that flavor.I remember when i drank tab,not great at first but i quickly got used to it.Still prefer regular to all diet but if i need a soda,i will always do a zero sugar.Still on the fence about the aspartame.When i can find it,usually as Target,i like Zevia,it is sweetened with a better sugar substitute,stevia and tastes fantastic! I wish the big companies would switch to healthier Stevia sweeteners.The only drawback is like anything that claims to be e better choice is more expensive.Just don't drink a 6 pack a day Lol

I have not had the regular Dew one yet, but having accidentally bought the Baja Zero thinking it was regular Baja, I would say the difference between it and traditional diet is that it starts with the same type of taste but doesn't have that nasty after taste that diet traditionally has. I would say it is an improvement, no where near tasting like regular soda yet but definitely not near as disgusting as traditional diet.

regarding the 10 calories in diet Mt Dew...you have seen some that have 0 calories and some with 10 calories,,,,the reason why is there are actually 2 recepies for Diet Dew....the one that has 10 calories has real orange juice added the one with 0 calories don't have the orange juice...it depends on which recepies the bottler uses...it's up to each bottler to decide which to use....just an FYI

Actually incorrect. Discrepancy comes from how the fda regulates caloric rounding. Anything less than 5 is rounded down to 0 and everything over 5 is rounded to nearest 5. This means that at 12 ounces, diet Mountain Dew has less than 5 calories but at 20 ounces it is closer to 10 calories. So diet Mountain Dew has between 4.5 and 5 calories for 12 ounces.

I'm okay with sucralose, but will not have anything with aspartame since I got aspartame poisoning. You don't have to stop drinking the regular sodas, you just have to not have so much of them. That would really be the same as starting to drink the diet sodas.

Always regular soda for me. Diet sodas are yuck and a couple sips of Diet Mountain made my stomach upset. I think it was the aspartame. So no on Zero sodas too.

MD Zero was a huge disappointment for me. I love Mountain Dew (but can't drink it as a diabetic) but I have never liked Diet MD. Tastes like a chemical cocktail. I tried Zero, hoping it might taste just like original MD (as Diet Pepsi and Diet Sprite taste almost like the originals) but nope. I couldn't tell the difference between MD Zero and Diet MD. . . bummer.

Sucralose. Sucrose is a naturally occurring sugar, sucralose is an artificial sweetener, which is one of the ingredients provides that unfortunate aftertaste that most diet sodas have.
