Thank you. I recently got a Brindly sleave hitch plow for my garden tractor, and your explanation was perfect for someone who knows NOTHING about plowing.

My Dad bought a set of Ford 101 in 1974, he had never owned a tractor or anything other than a Horse and plow before or used them. He bought a 3000 Ford at the same time and I learned to run all of that and I still have them to this day! I had never known all of this about those adjustments until I watched your videos! Thanks! It’s answered a lot of questions I’ve had all these years and I’m 60 years old now!

PLOWING Basics as explained to me when i was very young, and you have covered them in previous videos. # 1 Always turn the dirt UP hill! and #2 never plow going up and down on a Hill! if You do you wont have any dirt left to plow very soon! everyone wanting to try this, Do NOT be afraid to mess up! and take the Nike motto and Just Do It! You will be surprised at what you will then be able to A, Learn on your own & B, Understand what Mtnfarmer is explaining if you pay attention. Practice makes Perfect with this. Again Great Video

Appreciate the response on the draft control. My tractor only has position control so the depth is dependent on the idiot on the seat. Great content, best of luck for the season.

Love your videos! A lot of folks act like it’s a sin not to use no til methods. Soil conditions vary greatly even on the same farm.

An old farmer told me a long time ago listen to your soil. The trick is to understand what it's saying.

The main reason most larger farms have gotten away from using a moldboard plow. Is fuel use and speed. They like it wide and fast these days. 28' 32' ft wide disk and 40' field cultivators.

Great news, I dont live on a farm now but when I did we used a Belgian for firewood, June was her name. And yup about 40 yrs ago, maybe more, I am 60 now, so I would have been 17...20 ish during that time. We did have a massey for hay and field work. Enjoy the channel.

Here in Tennessee we have always use a 2 or 3 bottom disc plow. i have always use one, just a few days ago i got a ford 2 bottom plow. just like this one you have but a 2 bottom. the disc plow works good for cutting root, rocks stumps ECt, Guess i will see how a bottom plow works around here. good videos on the set up... the disc type plow setup about the same.

So how is the 2 bottom vs the discs?

Thanks it all making sense now. The art of corn cob collage is doing. Sometimes you just have to do to pick it all up. I have never understood the draft completely until now. Also how to best use it. Thanks for helping us all get on track. Now gonna have to get a plough. O wait I do have one for the wrong tractor lol. Maybe I should get the tractor that fits the plough. Hmmm we all have to start somewhere.

I was thinking about buying a three bottom plow just like yours, I only have a 52 hp tractor with 4x4. I have no clay and thankfully no rocks , do you think I could pull it?

Just curious i see that in your plow setup the 2 bottom arm in the 3 point seem fixed preventing lateral movement. Most people recommend leaving them loose in case you hit aa rock or hard object in the soil. Just wondering why you keep them like that, i am new to plowing and trying to see what right setup is best for me. Thanks

At 4:05 he has only six inches of topsoil because hes been plowing all those years ! Take that plow to the metal dealer.....get cash for metal price ! This is why so much top soils has been lost....because of plowing !
