Everyone needs a Les. A great friend to Alan. I do wish I could read his mind tho when Alan is looking like Spider-Man hanging off the fortress welding in 50mph winds and other adventures. Something tells me these two have some stories they could share. Lol. That view though! Breathtaking!

You have gotten so much accomplished, it’s good to see you smiling about the progress. I have to say seeing you hanging out the window in that high wind welding was a bit different, and no safety glasses while grinding was surprising!! I guess these antics don’t ruffle Les, you two have been great friends and gone on a few wild adventures. You are a man of many interests and talents. Every time I see a video of the fortress it just boggles my mind what you have accomplished on top of you mountain. Stay safe young man! ❤️🙏

OMG welding outside the window in a gale and no security harness on you is scaring the crap out of me. Hmm playing Tubular Bells on your jig. Alan you have some skills. The shutters are up that high you wont notice where the hinge sits. Love your videos and viewing from Ireland.

So happy to see things are getting done and I am glad to see you with Diesel Dave and the boys and the help that they are giving you! I am praying that you will be able to get a sponsorship from a gaming company that has to do with a fortress! I’m not a gamer so I don’t know the name but I know that I have seen ads for one. Their channel has the number of subscribers and they have connections so I think they could use that and work with you on your project and it help everyone! If it happens you can fly me out to help and be in a video! 😉😁

Stock size windows come 1/2" under call out size so you should be fine. Windows will be tight and you will have to shave the corner welds on the vinyl. With your jig, you should be perfectly square already. Might be able to get these windows off the shelf at Home Depot. Its a standard size. Great job! Interesting content!

The Wizard is so smart that Albert Einstein 😮 widely held to be one of the greatest and most influential scientists of all time. Best known for developing the theory of relativity, he also made important contributions to quantum mechanics, and was thus a central figure in the revolutionary reshaping of the scientific understanding of nature that modern physics accomplished in the first decades of the twentieth century turned over in his grave because he now has competition from the Wizards knowledge !

Hey Alan great job and I enjoy watching you work on your mountain fortress and watch you work with sparks motors. May I suggest splitting that metal frame in half to make a interior and exterior section in order to create a thermal break to stop the cold transfer through the metal from the exterior? Tooele County gets some hellacious winds. They’ve even had a few small tornadoes, the mountains usually protect us from those. We had one come through our backyard, it made a pretzel out of our 30’ umbrella tree. It picked up a roof under construction.. with the roofing crew still on it! Thankfully all the guys were ok. I’m sure Alan’s used to working on his fortress in crazy weather but, it’s always challenging for sure. Great video!

Grab you a couple 1in plus neodymium magnets. L bracket with one on each end would lock it to the frames. Or a flat bar with 2 will lock a double door with center seam. The holding power of the magnets should be plenty. Two 1'' magnets stuck together are nearly impossible to separate without tools. Might be able to use a few for jig anchors or hold downs. I use them at work to keep a metal door pulled closed against the wind, but can be opened by hand.

You might think about building your own window frames , just have them fold in sort of work like your shutters. Custom sized windows are going to be pricey and you can cut and fit glass into your frames for pennies. I love what your building. I’ve done some block laying and it’s a tough job. You are a hoss.

Your solution to moving the water tank was logically simple. I've had to use the "stand up, tip back, slide and tip up " process many times while moving tall, skinny cabinets in kitchen/bath remodels. Dave is a great guy but patience and problem solving don't always go together. I wouldn't sweat the hinge location issue too much, if the shutter closes in alignment, run with it. Pretty sure no one is going to notice with that window so far up and you'll forget about it as well.
