MTP #17: If A Vacuum Device Can Increase Length, Can a Penile Implant Become Too Short?

Two and a half minutes in you raised a question for me. Two really. One is there was no reference to use of a vacuum device in the post OP care instructions, so if I should be using one, at what point do you start? I am still pretty sore from the surgery on the fifth day after the operation. I can't imagine that I could tolerate use before middle of next week. The other question is this, they said not to inflate the the cylinders for 6 weeks which given how quickly I tend to heal seems like a very long time. And they closed the surgical site with the device completely empty, the fold in the left cylinder was irritating the tissue around it where it folded in that "dog ear" spot at the point where the penis droops downwards. So I gave it just enough fluid to unfold that dog ear and it was a lot more comfortable. They said nothing about pulling on the pump unit as tolerated and implied that nothing at all should be done with the penis through that first six weeks.

Mark...the vacuum pump is optional....and you should start using if you decided to do it as soon as u can have sex....10 minutes in morning 10 minutes and night....which should be the time that you are pumping yourself any ways.

MTP 17 5 yrs ago. Doc how exactly do I use the VED 10 minutes morning and night. Do I simply inflate my colonplast titan implant to its max. The place the VED over it and pumping until slightly uncomfortable?

Ten minutes a day twice a day if possible to, as you describe it, slight discomfort.

I have a question. I had my penil implant two Wells ago. My Urologist told me not using inflate or deflate mechanism until two Weeks from now. He told me only pull down the strings 4 times a day for 2 Weeks. I still have inflammation in my pinas and scrotum. Is It that proper?

FYI Caution ! squeeze as much fluid out of your prosthesis and into your Reservoir Do not engage you're a penile prosthesis before or during your vacuum session this allows penile tissues to stretch and less chance of early eroding (or breaking) your penile prosthesis Thunderspalace.
