When I read “mouth to mouth,” I expected them to kiss. 😢 But luckily I got to see Paul give us a mini performance so I’m still happy :) Though I wanted to see some actual MOUTH TO MOUTH HAHA! But I’m still happy!

Without Paul, There would be no Kiss songs. He’s the main song writer. ⭐️⭐️ Paul Stanley has always been my favorite as well.⭐️⭐️ Having Eric Carr sing Beth, was a great choice. He did an awesome job and it’s a great version to a classic as well as a memorable performance. He may have been the second drummer of the band but he was a much heavier sounding drummer than Peter Criss or Eric Singer. There are 2 songs that stand out, on The Elder. “I” and “A world without hero’s”. This was first of my seeing this interview, but the host should have waited on taking the makeup off after the show. Instead of in front of Paul and on camera. I thought was kind of rude of him after Paul took the time to put it on......anyone agree? Just saying. Angie St. Louis, Missouri

I kept watching just to see how cringey this interview was going to go and it ended with Paul on a mini body glove guitar leading the studio audience in one of the lamest renditions of R&R All Nite imaginable. It is now preserved for the rest of time. Amazing.

KISS could not get themselves locked up in the 80's. And people wonder why they have never let go of being a nostalgia act once that came back in 1996. Without a spectacle, KISS has nothing to sell.
@johnnyrotten5507

Amazing - where do you get your facts from ? In the 1980's KISS only sold a pathetic 12 million albums in the USA alone - obviously, it's a pretty average effort. Granted, the hysteria of the 70's had long gone, but nevertheless still a figure to be appreciated. They rock & rolled despite being ignored by all forms of media and still managed to sell out concerts in spite of having a totally new look and sound. As Jon Bon Jovi said in 1987, "KISS is the ultimate band".
@Playitstraight44
@Playitstraight44 4 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyrotten5507 Thats bad math since you're using Wikipedia and subsequent years of sales AFTER the 80's to reach that figure. My favorite is Lick it up. People talk about how the 'popularity' of that record 'saved" the band. Nonsense. The novelty was the video. But neither the song or the album made a dent in the top 40. That record never even obtained platinum sales until 1990. In fact in the 80's they only had three records go platinum - Animalize (1.5), Crazy Nights (1.0) and Smashes Thrashes and Hits (2.0). Paul Stanley even had a hard time getting a backstage pass to Live Aid! Forget KISS as someone who would have been invited to actually perform. So you're lost in your defense of that era. In an age where bands were routinely selling triple and quadruple platinum, KISS did well to go gold.

@@Playitstraight44 No one is saying that KISS of the 1980's succeeded as their "peers" did. Bands such as Motley, Bon Jovi & Aerosmith relished in that era in terms of sales. However, those same bands did NOT sell the equivalent amount of records in the 1990's. Why ? because much like KISS, they reached their proverbial "expiration date" and were relegated to a certain era. Most bands have their "ups & downs" and KISS' were drastically low. However, the ONLY reason their popularity wained so much is because comparisons & references were constantly made to the glory days of the 70's . No band, not even the KISS of the 1990's could compete with KISS from the 75-78 era. As far as Paul Stanley not being allowed to get into "Live Aid", so what ? Up until very few years ago, they were also denied into the Rock & Roll Hall of fame - why do you need the approval of some ignorant pencil pusher to determine whether the band should be inducted ? At the end of the day, it's the fans who determine if a band should continue or not.. ...

@@johnnyrotten5507 Which leads you back to what I originally said about KISS not being able to get themselves locked up in the 80's. There's nothing you have to defend here because it's not a put down so much as a overview of what was happening to them. I saw their Animalize tour and met them afterwards in the hotel they were staying in. My buddy was down there the next morning and had breakfast with them! Imagine the cost of that experience today! Later I met Gene Simmons again in a book store while Ace and Peter Criss were doing bar gigs. All of my autographs and personal engagements from the original band members (and current in the day) came during that period and cost me nothing. And they were grateful to be asked back then. How times change. You're right when you say they had reached their initial "expiration date". I never championed a band as much as I had for them back then. And I was in college at that time, so it's not like these are vague memories from childhood (although being a kid in college feels like a child to me today). What I will definitely say is they were a far more humble lot when the winds blew against them and they were happy to get noticed by anyone, anywhere. I felt sorry for them. They swallowed their pride ALLOT back then. Its quite the head screw to go from being the biggest act in the world to being virtually no one five years later. Without question the only person that saved KISS was Paul Stanley. That guy fought his ass off to keep them afloat when everyone, including Simmons, had abandoned him. And thats with Paul fielding questions routinely from the media who kept pressing him to concede KISS was over. So I really get miffed when he talks trash about Peter and Ace these days because his old buddy Simmons was probably more culpable for not being there when he needed him the most. Lets be honest. Gene was uninspired when he couldn't be the Demon. He was no longer the center of attention so he had no motivation to invest as heavily as he did before. Thats pretty selfish. So I understand how this period gets romanticized today, just like many of the records (in and out of makeup) are lifted up on pedestals by fans even though they were commercial disasters in their day (Creatures included). But it goes without saying, thats a period I guarantee you Paul Stanley would NEVER want to revisit if he could. Those were tough times no matter what they looked like.

@@Playitstraight44 I respect your point but I also have a different perspective. Fans are not idiots - they don't merely follow a band because they have an amazing stage show or "spectacle" as you call it - when I listen to Love Gun / Destroyer or Creatures, it's without a spectacle and only the music does the talking.....true, their downfall was devastating but even in the worst period of their lives, commercially, they still managed to sell gold & platinum albums and sell out arenas - if this is "bad", then everyone should have it that bad.
