She was very condescending and judging - she comes across like a person who's never had to struggle in her life as well as lacking the fundamental ability to be empathetic. When she made that snide remark about him smoking all his drugs he was selling when he told her he was a bad drug dealer said so much about her as a person. Her smirk when she said that too!? Ugh what a privileged, judging bitch - she has disgusting character.
@andrejsandal23823 жыл бұрын
Yeah, she was very presumptuous in several cases, even when it came to Pac's mother. I guess times were different back then, this was 26 years ago, and Pac was fighting what that lady represented, the prejudice and judgement coming from the people. And he recognised that the most efficient way of achieving victory is to deflect her arguably quite provocative questions with his calm, charming demeanor, making her look like even greater of an asshole and shifting the public opinion. He knew what he was doing, well played, sir O7
@smartinez2813 жыл бұрын
I don't think she did it to be rude or condescending. It's just a sign of someone who did not understand the other side of the tracks. Remember- this was the 90s. When mainstream america was being exposed more to non-mainstream cultures, lifestyles and points of view. Especially views from black youth It sounds cringy NOW but take the context of the time frame.
@naguibzidan89913 жыл бұрын
@@smartinez281 yo agreed, first of all the "smokin your own drugs" comment was made because she thought he was talkin bout sellin bud; not crack. She was tryna be cute, not a asshole. As for the other comments that come across as condescending etc, she was just fixated on this "artist with the childhood trauma and hardship" narrative bullshit that sold magazines back then. The media eats that shit up, then and now. Also: I think she prolly smitten, and got some preconceived idea of who the man was based on what she thought she knew about his background. Maybe I'm not explaining the concept well enough. I don't know about nowadays, but back when that motif was super popular among teenage suburban females, trust me; it got me good deal of puss in HS.

Lord Frieza Christ he died bc he was a threat to white supremacy. He was a leader and advocate for change and freedom for the black community. He was educated and well spoken, and whites are scared of black and brown liberation period. They staged his death to make it seem like he “died by the chain” with the use of media and negative stereotypes. Based on the his answers, despite the interviewers poor choice of words and clear lack of understanding of the struggle, pac was still able to present himself with the upmost humility and respect. Man I never grew up with 2pac's music, first picture I saw of him without knowing who he was, vividly remember, was in front of my classroom in 4th grade. First impression when seeing him, I thought he was an activist, he gave me that vibe, like a poet. Come to find out he was that kind of man. I am now diving into his life, music and interviews, etc. And even if I was not alive in this time yet, it feels as if time has not passed, and is like a time machine and it makes you feel like you are in those good times and feels like he is alive, is weird because I've felt this with other artists but he is different, it really really feels he is not dead when I see his interviews. I am now 23 and the fact that at 22-23 pac was speaking with this much intelligence, wisdom and knowledge and sincerity, is so shocking and admiring, I can't even have half of that wisdom now. And then I find out he was just 25 when he passed, that is damn young yo. But he still shines, he is never forgotten, new generation like mine and after me, still talk and listen to him. Rest in peace to a literal genius. ❤❤

@Free Thinker I think Suge and his Pyru buds were definitely bad influences on him. Can't blame him for hooking up with Death Row considering how big they were and how Suge bailed him out. But I think they definitely pushed him to act more bold, thuggish, and confrontational. Suge wanted a thuggish star to make headlines and 2pac wanted to impress the gang members that were always hanging around.

every time i watch an old interview like this, it really takes me back to being 14-18 and lookin up to him like a big cousin. Gotta a lil chocked up when ge was talkin bout the little ftball leagues w/Treach, Coolio, etc for the youth. GREAT things were gonna come from this man. Luckily even in just 5-6 yrs ge left us with great music, films, art in general. And most importantly messages. And all this time I'm thinking how DUMBED DOWN the typical "rapper" is now. Young Thug? Lil Pump, Lil Xan? All the Lil's!! Thank GOD we got NAS , Busta, Jay, LOX, Roots, Common, KRS, etc still dropping knowledge in 2021! That said, it really shouldn't have to come from fkn 50 yr olds! Not enough Kendrick and Coles commercially(among a few others, so chill young hipsters).

What strikes me most about this interview is how Pac speaks with so much integrity. He does not fall for conjecture or gossip. He speaks his own mind and does not waste time dwelling on people may or may not have done or what they may or may not have said. It is no wonder he got so much done in such a tragically short life. He is one of the few people where it is actually true that he did more in his short life than many people’s lifetimes.

@James You are what is keeping racism alive. Brought it up for no justifiable reason. ▪︎The interviewer is not expected to cuss when speaking, regardless of gender or race. So that was irrelevant. They are expected to hold at least some kind of level of professionalism. ▪︎The original poster of the comment never claimed to be suprised. More like admired his choice of words and seemed inspired. ▪︎2Pac is an outspoken "rapper"/musician that is known to NOT hold his tongue, and not give a fucck when it comes to "pulling punches" - he is very direct. That said, it seemed like the comment was in good-manner and was a way of showing respect - when apposed to modern ignorant azz "rappers" that just don't have respect and lack true morals and values. You don't have to attack someone random with an assumptiom if you're not contributing anything valuable. There are other places, more important places, to get YOUR message across. As it is an important one that I agree with for the most part. - Just not in this context. Get'ta grip brotha 💪🏽👑

Notice how he doesn’t have a wierd haircut, overly large chain, and actually has social skills! And still keeps it gangsta!! Rappers these days ain’t even half of what he is!

Nah Pac was heavy on that jewelry wave too. It was worst in the early ‘90’s around the time he did Juice and Above the Rim he was wearing like 7 chains and rings on every finger.

y'all gotta remember the generation before them was saying that PAC and all the other rappers of that time period was not doing real music! its the same thing older people do to kids these days with their music! give the youngsters space and grace to grow! RIP to Pac THE BEST

That's because he was raised in a generation of getting your ass beat when you acting out, being raised without a father in your life and a mom being there going through hell and doing her best but also living in a era where social media wasn't taking over your life. Like me I'm like him and it's being raised in that generation that makes you feel your an old person in a young person body. Well that's what I think

I think he was a good guy but he was a hot head. When someone crossed him he lost it… that’s always a formula for a bad outcome. Most of the people dead or in prison are there because they are reactionary …. You have to try to be level headed in all situations
