Judy Cash It wasn’t all fake. It became more fake as the years rolled on. It was highly manipulated by the producers, but most of the cast didn’t know that manipulation was going on. Much like “The Truman Show.” Towards the last season or two of The Hills, it was completely scripted, and everyone was in on it, at that point. But before then, many of them were just living their lives.

Audrina was such a mean girl. She would get involved in drama that had nothing to do with her too. She and Lauren ganged up on Heidi in the beginning even though Audrina was friends with Heidi first, and then towards the later seasons she spread that rumor about Lauren and Justin hooking up and showed her true colors. I'm glad Lauren discovered that she was also a shitty friend. LA is full of toxic people. I know The Hills was mostly fake but it's true. People will stab you in the back so fast.

Losing a best friend to betrayal is incredibly painful. My ex best friend married my daughters father. We were HS sweethearts. He was my first love. We broke up for a couple years and got back together at like 20/21. I had met her inbetween that time and she was my best friend for a couple years through my pregnancy up until we split when my daughter was 6 mo old. They got together about a year later but it made me question everything. Even though I moved on and got to a point I could deal with it and be civil, 13 years later I am still not over it completely. I dont think I ever will be. She was like my sister. I have so much love for her from the past buried in me, but also so much hate. I had to forgive so I could release that anger within myself. But I will never forget and it will never go away.

I think people need to understand the difference between a scripted show and a scripted reality. The conversations and the characters are them - for the most part. The scripting is the scenario. ie: having people with issues show up at the same space to cause a dramatic run in.
