@9milli4u468 жыл бұрын
you could easily get those kinda db's with just 2 sundown 15s and spend like half as much and it would probably sound alot better to. still love the setup though
@rocketboy1000rr8 жыл бұрын
+Michael cruser I doubt I could "easily" do the numbers with entry level Sundowns, now maybe if I used a pair of Nightshades or teams...yes, but thats gonna cost waay more than I have in my Jackhammer....
@9milli4u468 жыл бұрын
+rocketboy1000rr well if you figure you can get the sundown zv4 12 at probably like 750 shipped maybe alittle more and its 2000 watt rms(not to mention sundown is underrated a good amount) and jackhammer is 4000 watt rms and about 10K man. I mean with the same electrical system you will support it just fine and I definitely believe with a properly tuned box you would get better frequently response with the sundown subs not to mention their reconeable not sure if mtx is
@rocketboy1000rr8 жыл бұрын
It is rebuildable, and it's waay easier to bolt in a re-cone. I can GUARENTEE you that you are not gonna get a 156 or even a 153 out of a single 12... even 2 12s in a full size ride like a tahoe is NOT gonna be easy to get mid 50's. and I paid 1k for that Jackhammer so I can do descent numbers for less.as far as frequency response, the Jackhammer does very well in a prefab box, plays 25-50 pretty well..
@9milli4u468 жыл бұрын
+rocketboy1000rr sorry bro I ment 2 12s and Yea bro I can't hate on your shit at all its fucking clean and shittin on mine and if you got it that cheap it's a win no joke maybe I'm just jealous your sub is probably louder then the train yard in my backyard. wish I could hear it😪

@maxima2fst4u , Yes it is 3/4 inch plexiglass and the box alone weighs around 125 pounds. It's a pre- fab factory Jackhammer enclosure that was made by MTX for the sub.

nice set up , although i have one skar zvx 15" on 2000 watts in 4.7 cb ft. box that blew off all the upper console , rear view mirror and everything else attached to my tahoe , also in the tahoe sub and port facing upwards hits harder.
@rocketboy1000rr12 жыл бұрын
I sure, they are great subwoofers! what kind of ride was it in? there's also a video at finals showing an 8" sundown sub doin' a 152... and they cost about $150.00 so it's more about the build, vehicle, ect. I think. I'll still run a SMD against one on music anyday... that Z "might" put up the numbers... but NOT for long at full tilt, they are just NOT designed for musical set-ups and if they are pushed to hard...the "magic" white smoke appears, and have fun buyin' re-cones ;)

I had a chance to get the Jackhammer and a pair of 92001's CHEAP! so I bought them and threw them in my Lumina. It was obviously to heavy for the car so I bought a Tahoe and stuck it in there with a couple more amps, and it sounded damn nice. the factory enclosure is built VERY well and has a full 3/4" plexi rear on it to see the JH magnet. It is VERY musical and still hits the highs well too. It plays down in the low 30's with authority and I just don't have the ambition to change it out.
@rocketboy1000rr13 жыл бұрын
@TopFunGhost, Thank You!! I have run this setup for years with no problems, but I would say if a person could keep electronics away from the magnetic fields.. of any subwoofers, it is a very good idea, I ran into problems with space in my build, mostly because of the pre-fab box, and the size of the motor on the Jackhammer. I have not had any problems, but It's probley just a good idea.

@theclocker9 жыл бұрын
DUNN RITE I agree with chris with an extra battery. Those high farad stage caps can help, but can drain quickly.1/0 can only handle @3100 watts MAX. I see people on you tube using 1/0 when they should be using 2/0 or 3/0 cable. We use 3/0 for continuous 200 amps A/C current at work because 1/0 heats up and causes too much burden.
@jsmith5039 жыл бұрын

You honestly did a fucking awesome job installing. It all looks very clean for being a little new to the installation aspect of it. That's BS about the 15" Max subs. Before the MTX Jackhammer came out, I used to be an installer at Tweeter ( Before they went chapter 11 ). Kicker had the 18" Solo X, a sealed none-ported box needed 18 cubic feet to sound right. But I out of tweeter by the time MTX jackhammer came out. We installed mostley Focal, and JL Audio. Solo-X was for SPL heads

I had this in my tahoe for almost 2 years, and I was very happy with the set-up, but I like to compete in mwspl now and I just needed more than one sub in the back..not that one big-ass sub wasn't enough, cause it beat the hell out outta my ride, and still works like new today!
