This is a treasure trove of techniques, thanks for the insight.

The technique at 3:18 is so common in Chinese arts practice forms, but rarely do you see them use it. Baji, Taichi, Bagua, Tongbei, Piqua, all do this repeatedly in their practice sets. Nice to see it used here.

Tactic #4 is my favorite. I have seen Buakaw use it so many times and he sets people up for it all the time. Oh and it shocks you, so just when you think you are going to get punched you get dumped on your ass.

I have another one: When your opponent kicks to you ...you grab his leg and immediately you elbow him in the thigh, then knock him down. I do not know if that is legal?

I couldnt find the original video i responded to of yours, so Ill use this one. You asked me to report on my sparring results of tonight, and I will here. Buakaw has a wicked jab and teep chain that he uses, in conjunction with the switch kick to the arms usually and anything else he can land. Though samart hast he best jab and teep chain. Anyway. My coach is better than me and has more experience than me, despite us being matched well physically. I've been doing this for less than 5 years, my coach, for about 10 or 15 years; yet he is actually 2 years younger than me. I started late. Nonetheless our sparring went well! Neither of us was able to land any punches to each others heads or faces, and believe me both of us tried, but both of our guards were too tight, guards were too active, and both of us are skilled in defense(and in many of the same things; though he's better at kicks than me; I have superior hooks, as he said himself); so it came down to a battle of kicks with the occasional punch or punch combo thrown out to see if the other guy was slacking off on his guard and watchfulness. Didnt work for either of us. But I landed multiple heavy leg kicks on him, with my full body weight behind several of them, and I landed a couple solid switch kicks to the body; had only minor success with the teep tonight since I wasnt focused on it...and wasnt expecting to spar my coach(my normal sparring partner didnt show up, hence why Im sparring my coach haha). My coach, however, he landed more leg kicks on me than I on him, and more body kicks on me; and he landed 2 hard spearing teeps on me, one of which knocked me on my ass. After I sparred my coach for 2 rounds, I sparred this new chick, and let her work; only throw punches that I knew were gonna hit her guard(lightly), and focused on my defense basically(nothing got through that I didnt let through); whenever I spar girls this is generally my MO, to focus on my defense, but esp with beginners that are new to the gym, we want them coming back. My coach also sparred her, and did the same as I did, let her work while focusing on his defense. Yeah, dont really have any exciting news this week due to my primary sparring partner not showing up, and another of my sparring partners making an excuse for not coming tonight. Oh well. It was quite uneventful, but at least I got to work my defense; and I didnt get hit, not even once, in the head(though neither did my coach lol); my defense is rapidly improving. Ive always been a big fan of a high, tight guard, as well as footwork; and Ive been watching Cotto lately, and also several MT fighters; Pornsanae Sitmonchai currently, but others too that I cant name, all orthodox fighters of course. Anyway, I hope to have a better story for you next week, and Im gonna badger my sparring partners a bit to show up next week, so we can all get some work in, offense not just defense(though that too). I like working my punches, esp my hooks, most of all, and as I said I couldnt do that today. Anyway, great video man.
