I have the CDE900 Pro version. I didn't want a cheap one that only gives codes. After watching a bunch of videos, I decided on this one. But instead of buying that 4 function package, I bought the full function package for our specific venicle. It's pretty cool. Every 2-4 weeks, I turn it on and let it do updates. It updated my specific car package today. I'm not sure, but it may have also opened up a couple of others in the Honda type.

The scanner works great. You get alot for what you pay for. I have a basic maxi scanner that only shows you the codes and it does the job just fine if you dont mind looking up the codes on your phone or computer. Its nice to see the issue once you finish a scan and why I like this device. The upgrade is worth it in my opinion, but if your not really working on cars you might be able to do without.. I love to have every tool available when I'm troubleshooting and the upgrade offers just that. Dont forget that updates are for Life .. so well woth the cost when you think about it in that sense.

It's a great product for the price point, it's constantly be updated which says a lot. Since Ive had the product The interface has gone through a few iterations twords the better. I know on the Mercedes C230 it struggles a bit, can't say anything about BMW because I haven't tested on these vehicles. All though I have to say most do if not specifically made for these cars. I'm could honestly recommend from my experience.

Mucar CDE900 is better , do you really want your $1000 phone near the car while working etc .

I have the same unit I purchased yesterday and the smog shows 4 red..O2,evap,cat and egr in red..What’s dos that mean

I usually dont go by the first readings. Because you have 4 troubled issues doesn't mean all 4 are bad, it may just be indicating that because one of the 4 is bad its having an adverse affect on the others and giving improper readings (number values) to them. For instance the 02 sensors could be the issue and you would need to test, in that case the link here would show you how to test ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGOqi3iEmtyGeZo ) and once you figured that to be good move on to the next. What I would do in your case is to take note of these 4 and clear if possible. Take the vehicle out for about 100 miles and retest. If the problem persists then you need to move to troubleshooting. Also, make sure you have the most current update for your vehicle.

Hi , I just got one today having problems getting it started , does memory card have to be installed for it to work ?

The unit has its own internal memory but it's not very large. You will run into issues if you try and download the entire update of every single vehicle. Its best to format your card via a pc fat32 format and insert it you want the entire vehicle database.

@@micknick32two options for you... settings/factory reset and redo set-up.. else.. rest button/hole next to USB port.. round hole not square.. hold for 10 seconds..

I am thinking of buying this on AliExpress but they charge $52.38 for the device and $49.20 for the "Mucar CDE900 4 System Diagnostics Lifetime" Is this a scam. Can I not download the software elsewhere?

From my understanding both Amazon and Ali retailers are operated by ThinkCar but I would stick to the link I provided in the descriptions, it was given to me directly from the ThinkCar sales manager. The software upgrade that I know can only be purchased threw the app on the unit itself since it logs your SN.
