Awesome review. You are the 1st reviewer I have seen who didn't try to defend the oddly shaped alt mode. It's a good figure, but definitely not a definitive 86 Bumblebee.

The only defense I can give it is it is somewhat cartoon accurate which is also G1 toy accurate but it's definitely shaped more like cliffjumper than Bumblebee. I'm willing to bet they won't retool the back of the car for cliffjumper they'll tab in a spoiler that comes off....😅

This is a very honest review. You are probably right about Target program changing. I thought for sure it was a strong rumor Hound was coming as single release in the Bumblebee line. Hound isn’t that G1 looking either. So this Bumblebee was meant as a penny racer homage not a Studio Series 86 figure. I guess the same can be said of Cliffjumper. His is a repaint. I like my Seige Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. A couple of my favorites. The penny racer is cool too. But that lake of yellow paint bugs me. You are so on the money on Sam should have been included. All that and I’m still drawn to get it. I missed preorders so it’s now if found in wild. Ah if I don’t look too hard maybe the desire to acquire fades.

I see he's being found in Target right now but I'm pretty sure he's going to be restocked everywhere because Hasbro said they're going to be doing a long production run for him. Pretty soon you probably will be seeing a ton of them

I gave multiple suggestions on what they could have done to keep him the same but still make it worth it for us such as packing in a core class figure or lowering the price on good faith

I wish the front tires folded under the feet in robot mode so the hubcap looks like the bottom of sneakers. At least he would've looked more comic book accurate, I think it would have looked better. Great review, I'll definitely pick Bee up because I like the comic/toy look but I think this fails to look cartoon accurate in robot mode.

I haven't bought a bumblebee since the ko MP 2.0. I despise the chest of this toy, it looks like yellow cliffjumper, like you said. I expect this toy to go on sale for half what it is now.

You know what, thank god Buzzworthy Bumblebee was cancelled. can you imagine if this was a Target exclusive? It'd be the Netflix Bumblebee fiasco all over again.

I'm going to wait on this one because I have the Netflix and it's satisfactory for me...plus we've seen them do alot of color corrections on their figures. They are probably going to fix the yellows and have blue windows down the road. Plus..I kind of feel like the mini bot upgrades kind of started with that Earthrise Cliffjumper mold..so I kinda feel like it fits in better with Legacy. Studio Series Bee feels like a make good on the low availability of that Netflix figure.

I couldn’t get past the parts forming with the siege/earthrise molds so this guy at a reduced price will do as my bumblebee for now. He’s on Amazon for about 20 right now, might jump on that. I’m sure that means they’re going to release a new and updated version because of course they will. Why do it right the first time when you can do it wrong first and then sell the “fixed” version?

I'm not sure how I feel about this Bee. He seems like a mixed bag. I missed out on Earthrise Bee and was hoping this would do the trick. BUT, he seems sold out everywhere I go, and we all know there will be future G1 styled bumble bee's, so whatever. I'll live xD

According to Hasbro, this guy is going to be clogging shelves soon. He's a part of what they're calling an A tier character. From now on those characters are going to get longer production runs. So it's going to be back in stock and then back in stock again.

From my guess they didn’t want to pay the Volkswagen license. Plus it sets up a Studio Series Cliffjumper repaint. A slight retool and new paint. I’m pretty sure they will have a repainted version where the windows are blue and they add something else and call it an exclusive. I’m gonna get a second one to open and customize. Maybe I’ll fix the back to look like the cartoon. We’ll see.

They claimed on a live stream that they weren't able to paint the windows blue which I know is a lie. Studio series cliff jumper they painted the sliver of his abs gray. They can do anything

@@TMan978 The cutbacks on QC , paint , ect .... and continued price increases and shameless gouging, and customer gaslighting , i.g. "fans come first" , Haslab, Sentinel knees , 6month late Dragonfly, ect . Last two had subsequent haslabs that funded before delayed ones shipped .(Galactus , Rattler) They play dirty pool , with the franchises we love . And we're the paying customers , imagine how they do the employees in Vietnam and China . My skit was to illustrate this . So question , how can they see the paying customer any differently than they do their employees? Obviously, they can't . Only difference is , they can't treat their customers in an equal manner. Yet . But we are getting there . By their fruit, you shall know them . Love your review style , thanks. 😍

I still think ik what Hasbros doing. Theyre giving us this bee now and later will give him the white face (maybe a smile. MAYBE) and blue windows, to me thats pretty annoying since they can give almost 100% accuracy. But at last, no. Still love it though, definitely a pick up.

I like this figure because it feels like a WFC or Legacy version of the g1 toy, but I agree wholeheartedly that it's another, inaccurate, noodle-legged Studio Series 86 figure.. Real shame, too. But I like him still

Oh I wasn't clear. This and Netflix bee has thin legs compared to the G1 Bee. For a figure that's mean to evoke the 86 movie it's what I first notice about it. And even Netflix bee looks nothing like Bee from the show or even the 2018 IDW Bee, and again the thin legs stuck out to me

@calebwoods9358 yeah I don't know how they could ever make a retail cartoon accurate Bumblebee. When I was a kid and I started thinking about this stuff, I was thinking that there would never be a way that they could make a transforming version of what the robots looked like. When it comes to masterpiece and third party, I'm happy to have been proven wrong but even the official masterpiece Bumblebee looks like a cluster f*ck in both modes to be honest. I have never gotten things to be perfect in car mode and I shouldn't even have to mention the backpack and robot mode.

Excellent spot on review, TMan. I concur 100%! He is NOT cartoon Bbb. Those feet and the alt mode are terrible to me. I’m sticking with my Netflix version until a toon accurate one comes along.

I expected the feet to be big because on that budget, it's not much they can do unless they want to make it super complex. But if The face was accurate and it had blue windows, I'd shut up.
