We all know about the animation inconsistencies in G1 and the movie was no exception. But if you look right before he falls down, you'll see an entry wound on his front chest indicating that the giant blowout on his back was supposed to be an exit wound. Yeah that scene is even more gruesome than you thought

I've never been a huge Brawn fan, but that transformation is just too slick, plus the alt mode is shockingly clean for how much of it is broken into various panels. It's adorable! Not having color mismatches definitely helps. This guy's absolutely going on my list.

Clear plastic is far too brittle. Too many of my guys have cracked roofs from storing weapons or just transforming them. I'm glad to see the back of it.

I think the only Minibots left to be updated are Outback (who'll be a repaint/retool of Brawn), Gears, Swerve, Windcharger, Powerglide, Seaspray and Tailgate. I also wonder if they would do individual Constructicons or another collective pack like the CW Titan figure.

Now seeing that ss86 gets more solid and painted plastic instead of clear plastic, I really hope they rerelease ss86 Jazz and maybe kingdom Tracks. But besides the autobots, it's time they bring more ss86 decepticons. There haven't been many released yet and I would love to see some being rereleased from older lines like maybe Astrotrain or completely new molds.

I watched most of this review a few weeks ago and had to get this figure,but since then I had went back and watched the old 3 part episode the ultimate doom from the 1st season and I noticed that as brawn is drilling under the ocean with the other 2 behind him it actually shows HE DOESN'T HAVE A BACK WIDOW IN THE CARTOON.I wonder if the people who designed this figure knew about this and figured they could save a little money on paint and can still say it's accurate.

Looks great. Disappointed by the ugly green pegs in the wheels but hopefully we can get some hubcaps for those. I'm fine with painted windows where appropriate. SS86 Ironhide I think works better with painted windows though I'm not digging the battle damage. Prowl looks cheaper without SOME clear parts like the side windows and windscreen. His shins work better in white plastic with painted windows though. In general I think he looks bad with all painted windows. Looking forward to the inevitable Outback retool. We just need Widcharger/Tailgate, Gears/Swerve, Powerglide and Seaspray and I believe that's it, yeah?

Great review. I think you have the best reviews on KZbin. My only issue with Brawn & Ironhide, & really even Prowl, is that they were tough. Brawn was the second transformer I ever got as a kid, & I fermenter that there was at least 1 episode that highlighted how tough he was. And for him & Ironhide, Prowl, & Ratchet to get taken out so easily, it just didn't make sense to me. They were shot maybe once & they were dead?? I never got that. What do you think.

Definitely have to agree with you about the clear plastic windows. I'm way more of a fan of the light blue stickering they're using now. Pretty sure that's what it is btw, not painting. Sick figure, hopefully Hasbro can keep up the pace with this.

While I personally prefer the look of transparent windows, the trade off for consistent colors, and more substantial plastic still feels a win/win. Same goes for pinned vs pegged but I guess as long as the vehicle can roll it's again fine. Really impressed how close Brawn looks to his G1 iteration in both modes and how well he sizes up next to ironhide and the Pipes mold. Though expensive I feel Legacy, and Studio series is giving fans some of the best versions of these classic G1 characters. Definitely buying alongside Beachcomber. Now waiting for Gears, and Powerglide to add to the team.
