The wire strippers are an excellent tool, as a retired industrial electrician I have used them for many years, they can strip anything from phone wire to 6.0mm cable without having to fiddle with any settings. A great visit Jennie.

Getting back into the hobby after 20 years. Now I know why DCC concepts sounded so familiar, it was local to me here in Oz decades ago.

Thanks for a great video Jenny (and Zoe for running around). That was a wonderful demonstration of DCC concepts products sufficient to even convert me to the idea of more intelligent electronics on my next layout.

That DCC control thing would be so cool for when i get my layout up and running as i will be having about 20 to 30 points. Then i will have a lot of lights running off it as well. Those buffer stops look so good. It has been so informative. I may end up spending 100s of £s in there!

Interesting overview. So at 14:15 is that the AEU unit again which he says strips out the CDU and interconnecting wiring to the analogue solenoid points? If so where is the (CDU) power coming from to fire the points ie is it on the AEU board. Also point of note for Ecos 50210 Users, the track V & A can be found on the Operations tab of the screen Menu. So has RJ / DCCC now fully relocated back to the UK (Settle) from Perth?

I know this is the future of our hobby and my admiration goes out to the techos who design such equipment, but I feel a little sadness as yet another aspect of life becomes digital and removed from what I regard as day-to-day basics. But then I'm an oldie, and hence about to be confined to my house for God knows how long while we battle this awful virus! Maybe I should use my confinement to get to grips with the 21st century technology. Anyway, I wish all viewers and Jenny and Zoe good health and please keep these videos coming.

I'm pretty young and understand the sadness, which is why I'm planning on combining DC and digital control (not DCC) into my future layout.

Anyone else finding it difficult to hear what's being said as the audio sounds like it's down a drain pipe, compounded by the people talking in the background... Otherwise what a fantastic video, really interesting and amazing how they are trying to simplify DCC

9:20 Just on two wires? There are only two wires on analogue. What's the big deal with digital?
@QiuArVee4 жыл бұрын
The two wires control all of the points from the control box whereas with analog you need a separate wire from the control box to each point to control it. So it saves on a lot of wiring by creating a bus that each point can be connected to.

27:50 The magnets will eventually ruin the motor because the magnetic fields are interfering with the motor magnets. How much do DCCconcepts know about electrics?
