4.10s 🙏🏿 it's what people have been doing since these cars came out. The best gear set for all mustangs between 94-2010. A lot of people actually run 4.30s and 4.56s but those are too short if it's not a track only car. 4.10s are where it's at man I promise. As a guy who has owned a 1973 427 mach 1, owns a 1990 fox body gt rally car, owned a 96 cobra, owned a 2008 mustang gt, owned a 2014 mustang gt California Special, owned a 2018 mustang gt performer package 1, owned a 2017 mustang GT350.. and driven many many many other mustangs... 4.10 gears wake these cars up especially Dohc 4.6s v8s. You have a great KZbin channel and I watch it all the time. Just want to put in my two cents 🙏🏿 keep on making great vids man!

430 and 456 are not too short for street cars. You still don't quite turn 3k at 70 mph with a 456 gear and 26 inch tire. With a taller tire it would be even less.

I like that you kept the original wheels. To me they are the best looking. My Mystic was 4 months old when i lost track of my place on the road and took a leap over small hill. Had a vibration and wobble. The Ford service manager came out and told me "I don't know what happened, but we need to waranty three of your wheels" I told him I didn't know what happened either. I stayed with radial TAs .

Love the red paint! I have a black 97 Cobra.. came pretty stock like yours except with cat back flo masters and 3.73 gears.. I've done QA1 shocks and struts all around, QA1 rear upper and lower control arms, summit racing short throw shifter, ford performance clutch/flywheel/pilot bearing, etc and a Bassani X Pipe with hi flo cats (IL emissions).. I also had to delete the IMRC, so if you get a check engine light, that is probably it. Good luck with the car, she's a beauty!

Clean cobra 🐍. Much needed wash. Red always pops 💯🔥. Ready to see more mods in the future. I’d also look for a 94-96 impala ss. Another classic sedan. Drove one working at Chevy in 03. Big body corvette power moves out. 😁👍🏾

Tires make all the difference! Glad you can enjoy some traction and have some piece of mind too! In regards to cars to run against, I’d say: 8th/9th gen SI, late gen Prelude, stock E36 M3, 3rd gen Camaro IROC-Z or Z28, 4th gen LT1 Camaro, C4 Corvette, Turbo MR2, new Toyota Camry for sh*ts and giggles. Personally I think an 86/ BRZ or Miata would make for a fun close race. Also an S2000 would be dope as well.

A beautiful car like this with the spec of your interior I wouldn't sell it, it's only going to go up n value. I think u would regret it looking back. When I was younger I had certain specs of Hondas and Vws that are rare today and I kick myself 4 getting rid of them. An this is one of those cars.

I have Firestone Firehawk Indy500's on my Cobra, I think they are a little stickier than your new ones because I don't chirp 2nd gear as easily. But at the same time my car would have swung way out to the right in a drift pretty easily when doing a U-turn. The throttle position sensor plays a bigger role on these cars, there's a big difference between 60% with your right foot and 90%. If you really want to go fast stay in lower gears way longer than you feel like you should and plant your foot in it and hold on. And also, get good at talking to cops if you drive like I do.

3.73 for the rear, 4.10 will make daily driving a bit much. My 97 Cobra had them, along with Vortech supercharger (with cooler box), Basani x-pipe and Magnaflow catback. Ran a Steeda shifter and lowering springs (coilovers not that big in 98! :D) Replace the under drive pulleys stat! I think that along with the Steeda shifter and springs were my first swaps. Remember, driving a 32v Cobra is nothing like a normal V8 or turbo 4. She is happy in the upper range, think 8th Gen Si (bottom end nothing, top end, everything). Don't forget to swap in new plugs! My 97 Cobra was a great car, the only issue I ever had was the tranny, which you have already experienced! Good luck with the Cobra!

Get shocks and struts(koni adjustable ones) Then get 3.73 gears first. You will fall in love with it more. And race a 94 or 95 camaro z28 that should be close one.

You should have plenty ideas. Civic Si, G35, G37, Camaro v6 or turbo 4, older Camaro, Challenger R/T 5.7 liter, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Genesis coupe, 2 or 3v Mustang GT, another SN95 Cobra, Honda Accord, maybe GTO 5.7 liter if you learn to drive well, Fusion Sport, Buick Regal GS, modern Mustang v6 (probably not an ecoboost unless you mod), Charger, Chrysler 300, WRX and EVO (unmodded), RSX, Regal....I think could go on all day. Ford Raptor, older Corvette from the 80's and early 90's, RX7, Stealth, Mitsubishi Eclipse v6, Fox body mustang....there ya go

Matt it to the floor and put pressure on shifter so, soon as clutch can release the shifter goes quick into gear. Best way 2 experience cars and ur capabilities w/o beating the car to death is go in an empty parking lot after it rains and start sliding,drifting and learn what 2 expect w/o shitting ur pants.

Worst thing you can do is go with the stock tire size you need wider tires out back... Biggest you can go on stock wheel is 275 40 R17 get some 4.10 gears short throw shifter and cold air tube it... And those BF Goodrich suck for racing that's a straight line shooter you need nitto drags or mickey Thomas drag/street tires

The oil pressure gauge on those Fords is just a dummy switch. I would leave the factory gears in it. 3.73 gears aren’t worth it.
