@@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Cheers George very kind of you.. Laying 3rd in the 60yrs to 70yrs until I hit a rock in the stream and dented the rear rim and wrecked the tyre.. A real shame, never mind and on to next year MTB Champs. Not before The winter Cross season... ARRRRRRRRRR hahahahaaa.

@@GiorgioCoppolaCycling Hard mans course - It was a nightmare but I loved it.. I got too confident going through the stream and trashed the rear rim.. The Cannonball was a name given to me back in the late 80s when we used to do Road, MTB, Cyclocross racing. I was always firing off the front and getting caught at the end and chained back in, hence The Cannonball and its stuck.. haha. I road for the Rock Mountain team in the UK XC 80s 90s team and always been doing it after that time.. I went out last night on the chain gang reformed for the first time from back in the very early 90s no joke with some young guys. We are getting a bit older now but still loving it man!.... I rode and it was really tough even by Tong standard. It was just survival for many of us! Loads of really good riders doing the B's. Most of us have to go to work monday morning! Tong is a level up in techncality compared to other races in the uk. You need big balls to ride the As. But the really good guys do make it look easy

It certainly was survival, I was glad to come away in one piece 🙌 it’s always something I have in the back of my mind the fact I have work on Monday and having broken my hand in the past during a race, I’m not sure I ever want to go through that again!

Well done Georgio, at least you got to your best ever fitness which is a great achievement. I didn't even attempt the A lines, only got there Saturday evening and did 1 practice lap Sunday morning! At least you finished, it was a brutal day out!

A medals a medal - no shortage of people couldn’t do the B lines - and a very big difference between riding round a trail centre and racing over tech features. Really well done. PS You should come and race the Tong CX which is pretty mountain bikey.

i watched the races on XCOMTB's youtube page, good going considering the conditions, please don't give up the XC racing just work on your tekkers, i know how ben got off with his race too, looking forward to his video. hmm doughnuts or cycling, depends if it's you or rocket eating them lol .

I would love to and know it would be really good for me but the budget doesn’t stretch to a cycling trip at the moment… I do plan on practicing my technical skills more and hopefully going to some local bike parks before next season 👌
