I just finished reading two bios, one about Little Walter and the other about Muddy Waters. Muddy asked that his red tele be buried with him. It wouldn't quite fit, so they broke the neck and put the two pieces inside the casket.

No one does this song like Louis Jordan who first recorded it. I have yet to hear anyone hit that high note Louis does!!

@cedricleecason Yes, song is in G... Jerry plays a C harp in 2nd position, then switches to a G harp in 1st position at around 2:48... so good !

@goodymagoo He definitely switched to a G Harp to play in 1st position... at 2:18, you can see Jerry put his C harp down on his amp, and pick up the other harp.... you could still use a C harp since the song is in G... try your G harp at 2:48 and see... have fun !

Who is the guy with the strat?
@airmojo13 жыл бұрын
@goodymagoo Playing blues in 1st position, especially the way Jerry is playing in both the upper and lower octaves, is harder than playing in 2nd position, generally speaking... at least for me...

that isnt' paul butterfield, ti is jerry portnoy,, he has a picture on harp junction where it shows got my mojo working and that is him in the background playing with muddy waters,, it looks to be the same day. the harp players certianly look the same so it has to be jerry portnoy.

Check out my version, of course I'm no Muddy or Louis Jordan, but I love the song. I agree this is a good band, but I like the original line-up w/ Jimmy Rogers, Otis Spann and Little Walter.

its pretty much standard blues. except the turnaround is a 2-5-1. so if it is in G the turnaround bit would be A-D-C.
