This is about as rare as it gets, Hooker, Muddy, Honeyboy, Willi Dixon, Winter and Foghat all sharing the same stage. Amazing.

I will never forget how John Lee Hooker set me back on my azz the first time I saw him in the 1970's. Imagine growing up on the Canadian prairies, moving to the west coast and then seeing John Lee Hooker at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC for the first time....I will NEVER forget it!! and thanks to him I fell in love with the blues. Words don't do it or these musicians justice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the Blues that grabbed me as a young man. Spacing is right there. Perfect. No shredding allowed. RIP to all the masters. Your shows were the very best. Nothing has even come close since those special days. Your spirited blues is still with me. Thank you so much.

This film is the first time I've seen them together too. John Lee Hooker's Live at the Cafe A Go-Go is with Muddy Waters' band, just in case you didn't know about that.

Saw Johnny Winter, and had opportunity to sit and meet him for about seven minutes in his motor home where he was gracious enough to talk and sign all of my early albums. This was a blessing because 6 months later he was gone.A true southern gentlemen so kind. I will never forget this time with one my favorite Blues players I truly admired for over 40 years. God bless you my Friend

90% of these greats on the stage are Dead and gone. So sad how music is going down the tubes. Thank god we have the memories! Foghat was also a great band!! Rod Price one of the best slide players and hugely underrated.

Cool, man. My second-ever rock concert was Johnny - at Winterland ....some good ol' daze. I'm commenting too, because I used to visit my Grandparents in Watseka. A certain Allen Decker actually still leases and operates some farmland my folks own out there. Cheers!

Kat Hagan Oh they certainly were ;) I was a huge Foghat fan - seeing them would have been awesome enough...but being joined onstage with all my other heroes made this the Holy Grail of rock concerts ;) There were two back to back shows at the Palladium that weekend. I can't remember who played which day, but Foghat played the one night, and J. Geils Band played the other - I went to both :)
@hamstergirl44447 жыл бұрын
Your pep rallies? Now that's cool :) I was so excited when he came out onstage - I'd always admired him and his brother. Unfortunately, this was the only time I ever got to see him play live - which is odd, considering how many concerts I used to go to back then.
