My Dad, his father and grandfather and extended family all worked at the Woolwich Arsenal making guns back into the 1800's ............. My Dad was definitely at 'the arsenal' in the 1930's, he might even have used that mug! Thanks for the memory and so wonderful to see something so tangeable of a time long passed......... Great find. Enjoy your cuppa!

Finding the mug intact was fantastic, it's nice to have an historic cuppa, when I lived in Devon some years back a local secondhand shop had a lot of ex-prison crockery all marked with the HMP mark, I bought a dozen pint tea mugs from them to give to friends as gifts, the oldest of those was 1938 and purportedly came from HMP Dartmoor. It’s Mother’s Day here in the States Nik, so happy Mother’s Day. You seem like a loving, caring mom and that is the greatest compliment I could give. Thanks for the entertainment as well, it really helps to have a few minutes of escape these days.
