I used to make all my own clothes. I was in a quicktrip, and the cashier looked over my dress, and said, "Come back tomorrow, I have something for you." So, the next day she gave me a gallon (!) jar of buttons that had been in her family for years. I found every archeological treasure of American buttons you can imagine: bakelite buttons shaped like tiny Chinese lanterns, mother of pearl of every description, glass, and little bone buttons commonly used on Civil War era men's pants. I still find new stuff in that jar.

There is a unique source of optimism here. What's more, I Was not expecting to feel that, at all. And I am glad for it, it something sorely missed in today's age, to have, respectfully, charm in such a reductive minimalism. It forces one to look and enjoy the literal little things in life, when all of the "big things" seem to steal all the focus. There is, if you will a meditation here, and I sorely needed it. And it was only after watching [not even seven minutes in yet] this, that I got to that knowledge. I can already tell this is an amazing channel, doing the right things.

When I lived in southern Spain as a teenager in the 70s, those long millefiore beads were called 'Goulamine Beads' because they were supposed to come from Goulamine in Morocco or thereabouts where they were left as offerings in the desert to give good luck. I still have some from that happy time!
