This song hits so hard when you feel you're truly alone in the world; when you notice that everybody that once said loved you or cared about you are not around anymore. It reminds us such hard lessons, and to keep straight on a road of angst and harsh truths, where everything is grey and no longer a child's play, and where the whole life ahead of us is no longer in the future. But then, you realize that's life. A real eye opener from Mudvayne.

Lyric- When passion's lost and all the trust is gone Way too far, for way too long Children crying, cast out and neglected Only in a world so cold, only in a world this cold Hold the hand of your best friend Look into their eyes then watch them drift away Some might say we've done the wrong things For way too long, for way too long Fever inside the storm So I'm turning away Away from the names (calling you names) Away from the stones (throw sticks and stones) 'Cause I'm through mending the wounds of us Keep your thorns 'Cause I'm running away Away from the game (fucking head games) Away from the space (hate this head space) The circumstances of a world so cold Burning whispers remind me of the days I was left alone in a world this cold Guilty of the same things, provoked by the cause I've left alone in a world so cold Fever inside the storm So I'm turning away Away from the names (calling you names) Away from the stones (throw sticks and stones) 'Cause I'm through mending the wounds of us Keep your thorns 'Cause I'm running away Away from the games (fucking head games) Away from the space (hate this head space) The circumstances of a world so cold Oh, I'm flying, I'm flying away Away from the names (calling you names) Away from the games (fucking head games) The circumstances of a world so cold Why does everyone feel like my enemy? Don't want any part of depression or darkness I've had enough, sick and tired Bring the sun, or I'm gone Or I'm gone I'm backing out, I'm no pawn No motherfucking slave to this Never lied, never left, never lived Never loved, never lost, never hurt Never worried about being me or anyone else Not a care, no concern, don't give a shit about anything Backing out, giving up No motherfucking slave to this Never lied, never left, never lived Never loved, never lost, never hurt Never worry about being me or anyone else Not a care, no concern, don't give a shit about anything I need to find a darkened corner A lightless corner Where it's safer and calmer I'm turning away Away from the names (calling you names) Away from the stones (throw sticks and stones) 'Cause I'm through mending the wounds of us I'm running away Away from the games (fucking head games) Away from the space (hate this head space) The circumstances of a world so cold Oh, I'm flying, I'm flying away Away from the days (calling you names) Away from the games (fucking head games) The circumstances of a world so cold

+Sean Smith Ryan Martinie is indeed an Amazing bass player. The rest of the Band have interesting Personalities: names, other bands, creativity, and common aspects: some of them seem like they have had rough lives in some domains and their Presence on stage is again Impressive as well as many of the Videos they've done or concerts. Never been to one of their concerts even though I went to several Metal concerts (Slipknot, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Sepultura, Slayer, Kid Rock, Pantera, ....), but I hope I will see them one day on stage :))))

+Sean Smith that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. My opinion is that of alexander's, extremely impressive, ALL OF THEM. Great vocals and lyric writing, great guitar riffs and superb drumming! I am sorry I never saw them in concert and only hope one day they will reunite so I can.

When passion's lost and all the trust is gone, Way too far, for way too long Children crying, cast out and neglected, Only in a world so cold, only in a world this cold Hold the hand of your best friend, look into their eyes, Then watch them drift away Some might say, we've done the wrong things, For way too long, for way too long Fever inside the storm, So I'm turning away, Away from the name Away from the stones 'Cause I'm through mending the wounds of us Keep your thorns 'Cause I'm running away, Away from the games Away from the space The circumstances of a world so cold Burning whispers, remind me of the days, I was left alone, in a world this cold Guilty of the same things, provoked by the cause, I've left alone, in a world so cold Fever inside the storm, So I'm turning away, Away from the name Away from the stones 'Cause I'm through mending the wounds of us Keep your thorns, 'Cause I'm running away, Away from the games Away from the space The circumstances of a world so cold I'm flying, I'm flying away, Away from the names Away from the games The circumstances of a world so cold Why does everyone feel like my enemy, Don't want any part of depression or darkness, I've had enough, Sick and tired, bring the sun, or I'm gone, or I'm gone I'm backing out, I'm no pawn, No mother-fucking slave to this, Never lied Never left Never lived Never loved Never lost Never hurt Never worry about being me, or anyone else Not a care, no concern, don't give a shit about anything, Backing out, giving up, no mother-fucking slave to this, Never lied Never left Never lived Never loved Never lost Never hurt Never worry about being me, or anyone else Not a care, no concern, don't give a shit about anything, I need to find a darkened corner, A lightless corner, Where it's safer and calmer, I'm turning away, Away from the name Away from the stones 'Cause I'm through mending the wounds of us I'm running away, Away from the games Away from the space The circumstances of a world so cold I'm flying, I'm flying away, Away from the names Away from the games The circumstances of a world so cold

I remember hearing this song for the first time, i was just 9 years old and it was very timely, because i heard it on the coldest and rainiest days of my entire life, i had just lost some friends due to betrayal and others simply separated from the group due to the same situation, each one went their own way not to return, while i was the only one who frequented the park where we met, playing completely alone and melancholic, it was a hard blow from reality that made me understand that not everyone is our friend in this life.

I will always find some kind of drive and get up from their music.
