Yeah her version was in the early seventies I forget who wrote it somebody something Betty I don't I don't recall but yeah I was amazed when I heard this version when I was about 12

Michael Anthony was using a flanger on the bass.. and his back up vocals really made van halen the best it could be.

great cover. like all VH covers, they van halenized them. I believe they didn't use keyboards at all on their 1st 2 albums.

Van Halen covering Linda Ronstadt is amazing. You will like Linda’s originial - she’s a great singer.

Linda Ronstadt did do the song in the 70s but it's not her song I forget who the original person was. But yeah my mom played her original aversion quite often. As well as Besame Mucho

Thats no keyboard. Eddie is using guitar volume swells. You hit the chord with the volume knob down then turn it up to create the swell sound. He uses it also on cathedral in the live “Eruption” solo on the part that sounds like an organ. He uses delay and hammers notes with left hand and times his volume on and off with tye delay timing. If you watch closely you’ll see he isn't picking anything but turning the knob.
