Some people here are making fun of this Biryani saying it's khichidi , mutton pulav etc. Let me tell you one thing there are different versions of Biryani cooked across India. They all are good in their own context. If you don't like a particular style of Biryani then it's your personal choice. I have tasted Lucknowi, Kolkata Biryani (it comes with a big piece of potatoe) , Hyderbadi dum Biryani and this one shown in this video Ambur Biryani. To me all are good. As a real foodie you should have the taste buds to enjoy every region's food. The Biryani shown here is very delicious. The fire wood cooking always brings out the best taste in the food.

Ayaskant, you are absolutely right. I bet each place in India has its own authentic Bryani and one must taste all of them. India is the best place to taste the difference kinds of Bryani.

To all those saying this is not biryani. I'm a big biryani lover and I've had about 40 different types of biryani in my life. 40 freakin' types of biryani in only 6 different cities. Imagine how many types of biryani recipes are there in entire India.

hi Cooper, He Says "Ambur Star Biryani is famous in Tamil Nadu(india). They use Seeraga samba rice and not basmathi Rice. Ambur is a place which was ruled by Arcot of Nawab and it's their recipe. It tastes delicious."
@emzed30897 жыл бұрын
Wow, the Ambur Star Biryani looks so good delicious with the succulent mutton on top. How come it's not introduced here in Singapore? All we have is the normal Biryani and Dum Briyani made from Basmati rice. Quite boring after some time.

Cooper he is saying that the biryani originated from the Mughal Empire. The royal kings and family introduced ambur biryani, infact all forms of biryani has Mughal/Mogul inheritance. And people used to cook it traditionally by burning wood, just the way they cook it. In the end he just says that there are other Star Biryani franchise's in other parts of Tamil Nadu, but the original Star Biryani shop is his shop.

Ambur in south and savaji biryani in hubli, Karnataka are the best biryani I have eaten till now. Hyderabadi is also good for people who like excessive spices like cardamom, etc... Ambur has fewer spices but the taste is exceptional. And I don't like too many spices.
@manasij20117 жыл бұрын
Sushant K they also use cardimom in this as garam masala..
@nishanthuman28827 жыл бұрын
Pankaj Doharey same pinch
@sushant31967 жыл бұрын
manasij chatterjee yes they use but raw spices are used in lesser quantity. Actually, this is how they prepare authentic Arabic biriyani. Hyderabadi is tailored for Indian need for more spices. Atleast this is what I read in an article.
@sushant31967 жыл бұрын
Pankaj Doharey that's upto you, but ambur is not from karnataka anyway. It's from tamil nadu. Kannidagas don't like too many spices, but some places like hassan, mandya and North karnataka love hot food filled with green chilies and red chili powder to some extent. I guess this is the reason why most kannadigas settled in the US have created a food culture which Americans also love as it lacks those heavy spices. My aunt in NJ says Americans love idli and dosa more for breakfast these days.
@sushant31967 жыл бұрын
I'm a somewhat intermediate level cook and recently I prepared dhaba style chicken curry after watching it KZbin. The chef literally put garam masala 3 different times during cooking. I was very overwhelmed by all those spices. It's just my taste buds and I don't like spicy food.
