@@jahleelx9270 I remember seeing this video of Ali pulling out the gorilla and hitting it. I knew he was talking about Frazier. This was years and years ago. At the time I though it was funny, but later thought it was disturbing. The great Black nationalist Ali, calling another Black man a gorilla in front of a predominantly white press. Ali did a good as portraying Frazier as this menacing bad guy, but if you saw Frazier back then he was always very nice when being interviewed. I can see why it fired up Frazier into a rage - especially by the 3rd fight.

What we don't know with Tyson was how good he actually was or could have been if he continued to progress, especially given how young he was and his improvement as a fighter from 18-20, 20-22.

Didn't Foreman's wife threaten to leave him if he ever fought again? Dunno what two fat 60-somethings fighting each other would prove now. Would've been great to see them meet in their primes though.

While many people waste their time being offended, Muhammad Ali just talk shit to Joe Frazier even calling him GORILLA. This stuff is really great.

Just remember: Ali lost to Leon Spinks who only had 7 fights (or so). Got TKO"d by Holmes and lost to Berbick. As well as a few others. Point: Neither were the same after a certain point. Tyson when he left Rooney and Ali after he came back from exile. However, there is no question Ali is on top because he was able to come back off that exile and not being the same fighter continued to win against quality opponents. Tyson however tailed off and went down hill.

I have always been of the belief that Ali threw that first fight with Spinks. He did it so he could go into the record book as the first fighter to win the heavyweight title three times. I mean doesn't it strike you as odd that he would have given a title bout to a then novice like Spinks? He knew he could easily defeat Spinks, and that's what he did in their rematch. As for Holmes and Berbick, I don't count those bouts, as they were just comeback attempts, like Louis and Marciano.

he was sick and old , burnt out against holmes and berbick. its clean he wasnt well even in the pre match interview against holmes. those doesnt count in my eyes, and to be honest he did very well in that situation against berbick, he wasnt the same guy he was after he got parkinsons yet he still kept up with berbick

Parkinson's is how he lost to Holmes and Berbick. Without that, he would have won. Granted by the early 80's he was way out of his prime, but he could fight in any era honestly. He is the only 3 time Lenial champion in history

These days Foreman claims to have ducked or tried to duck virtually everyone, so I take his words on that matter with a veritable pinch of salt. They could have fought in '76 when Foreman was on the comeback and Holmes still an obscure contender. Foreman was interested in Holmes because he was looking an Ali clone in preparation for their rematch. The fight fell through because Holmes got injured, but I suspect his camp weren't keen on risking him against George at that point.
