BIC blades on their 2nd and 3rd use are probably the sharpest blades out there..

Just got this from shavenation and one word: AMAZING! CNC machined from a solid block of stainless steel. Heavy in the hand, the razor will do the work for you AGT. BBS shave after 2 passes. Never have to worry about the Zamak heads of traditional R41 rusting and chrome plated, this razor will shine for it's life provided its properly cleaned. There is no doubt this will last many generations. Even the gillette open comb "NEW" razors from the 1920's survive today and are made out of brass, this is Stainless Steel, more stronger and more corrosion resistant. I put this in my chrome plated stand and it glistens and shines with MUHLE badging on bottom, what a marvel.

R41GS is sold out in Germany. I got one of the last from the 2nd production run. All CNC precision machined and polished stainless steel. Something to pass on to my grand children (in case my kids will manage to make at least one male).

The Mühle R41 is the perfection. It's the only one able to cut my beard. It's simply a pleasure when I shave my face. Mühle is a top brand and synonymous of german quality. I suggest it to all people that want use the top on the market.

After 10 years of using Gilette 7 O'Clock blades, I decided to get a pack of the Bic's. Honest opinion after the first use, is that the Bic's are just a tad sharper than the 7's but I find the shave isn't as smooth. Will use the pack though and see if the smoothness improves with use. Nice shave Geo! I got a great shave from my R41 by accident the other morning. I picked up instead of the R88. I did realize it but decided to go with it. Got a great shave in two passes with an Astra Platinum blade. No irritation!

@@geofatboy They we’re both in identical boxes and I drew the wrong one. I did notice right away and decided to give a try anyway. I tried something and learned that I can get a smooth shave with an aggressive razor using fewer passes if I’m careful.

Great shave again Geo. BBS in 2 1/2 passes is very impressive!! I watched and thought " Oh God! He didn't clear the runways!!" I think you redeemed yourself after though, I don't think you'll get too many complaints 😂😂. That Razor is a beast! The most aggressive razor I have is the Lupo dual combs •95 side. I tried the Bic blade the other day and I liked it. Chubby 2 super badger is a fantastic brush, probably my favourite. You look younger without the goatee mate. I shaved very close the other night and my missus said I looked like a young boy! ..........mind you, her eyesight isn't that great!! 🤣🤣. Take care my friend and stay safe. Dave. 👍👍

Geo💈💈 Excellent shave using a monster razor. I can only imagine how aggressive a 4+oz SS R41 feels, the regular one is more than I can handle. You seemed to manage it just fine, not even a weeper and removing all that facial hair with ease. I thought the Vandyke looked good, you can always grow another but being completely smooth has its perks too. Great video of a new product and a shave to match, thanks. Enjoy!

I remember my first R41 shave. I turned a moderate beard (1/4”, no pre-shave bulk removal) into a goatee with it. Unfortunately, I needed a transfusion afterwards. Lesson learned. If you’re going to do something like that, learn how to handle the R41 first, and definitely don’t put a Feather blade in it. Needless to say, we’re on way better terms since then. I’ve had it almost ten years now, and it’s the first DE I reach for in the summer for carving my beard into the summer goatie.

Hi Geo, i like ur chanel sir! Alot of information for the razor world! It can be interessting to compard a DE razor shave agains high end electric razor like panasonic arc5, philips 9000 serie or braun series9. I try for a wild to shave whit DE razord but didnt work for me. SO MUCH rach in the neck area. Now i use panasonic arc5 whit shaving gel ! Nice and smooth shave over all. Super is just another name for silvertip badger hair. And best is the grade that's in between pure and silvertip or super, in the case of Simpsons' brushes.

I put a feather in the R41GS and shaved my dome. Big mistake. Way too much. Will try a Polsilver next time. The weight is pretty significant so you have to be very careful. So far I like the twist version the best.

Thanks Geo! I always find myself cutting my Adam’s apple on the way up. Does that just mean I have sensitive skin or am I pressing too hard? I’m only using a Merkur 38C. Doesn’t seem to matter what blade I use (Astra or Feather). I have thick beard hairs so I want to get the Muhle R41GS!!

@@geofatboy you were, as far as I know, the only KZbin shaver with a consistent beard, showing how easy it is to maintain with a good DE setup. Personally, I think you look better without, and Ken Surfs looks better with. However, he only keeps facial hair a few videos, and only for special occasions. Either way, I’m just glad you put out high quality video reviews of items I may want to try.
