ngl i used to love this show but recently i’ve been getting super annoyed at everyone here except boss yang. i feel so bad for him. i understand how this is korea’s culture and how everything works, as I’m korean myself, but if someone else was paying for the meal, i definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable ordering 60 dollar plates of food on my own as much as i want. no offence to that actress, but how can she eat like that when it’s her first time with everyone there? show some respect please. whenever i eat with other families or friends, my parents and other parents fight to pay the bill, because they feel bad for letting others pay. but they just walk out leaving boss yang to pay 500 worth of food? and it’s not like he doesn’t treat them very often, and all the hosts of the show are doing are making fun of him for being so stingy. of course, cause you’re not the one paying. yes, in korea the bosses or whatever often buy meals for coworkers, but this is too much.

Also, remember that tv shows are meant to be a bit overexagerated, so dont take his look of shock when he finds out the bill cost something to be disappointed about in the muscle crew, but a funny scene of how absurd the meal cost.

If someone is paying for a meal, it’s normal to ask the person who’s paying before ordering. That guy sneakily going to aside to add more orders knowing that Boss Yang is not comfortable paying is rude. All production companies offsets the cost of food, travel and other amenities. It's like battle trip, my little old boy and I live alone, those shows often showcase group meals etc... so the celebs front the cost and on their next paycheque from the company they get compensated. In Korea, if you're a full time worker, it usually comes with a meal/lunch so even the production crew that eat out, get compensated / an allowance for it. Don't believe everything you see, it's just for show (quite literally). Plus the bosses make more money, the larger the reaction is (so honestly it's better if they ordered more) because they can get more royalties from air time, reruns and even views from online videos. As well, more people would sign up to his gym because of the chance they would get of possibly seeing famous actors/celebs that go there. It's literally a win win situation for him. Do you really think people would do these kinds of shows if it inconvenienced them and only humiliated him (ie calling him beggar yang)? No. He's getting paid. So calm down and think logically about how the system work before you go nuts kiddo. I work with production companies, shoots and etc on the regular, that's the standard in both North America and Asia, and honestly based on personal experience, it's way easier to get compensation / pass expenditures in large Asian companies because they aren't as nitpick and extensive with reports for filing claims for audits.

I know everyone is frustrated that the muscle crew was ordering a bunch and making Boss Yang frustrated, but chances are the PD's had told them to do that before the shoot began. Also I wouldn't be surprised if they reimbursed him for this episode off shoot, because other shows on KBS are known to reimburse those on it to help bring content in case they can't afford to, i.e. Bong Taegyu when he was on Mr. House Husband, they helped pay for his groceries for the content he did for the show. Don't just take everything on the show for what it is, a lot of variety shows are scripted even if they say they aren't.
