The Emperor looks different in the early version of the opening and you can actually tell it was in a much more darker tone.

When I saw the alternate opening to the movie mulan where the emperor had a foreboding dream that foretold the invasion Of China by Shan yu and his army and the emperor wondered who could save his kingdom from the Huns they could've used this scene for the opening then later on that same night move on to when Shan yu and his army attacked the great wall of China
