You should put QA1 MOD SHOCKS on Mullet so that way you can dial one valve pack for road driving,one for very aggressive radial racing,and one for either slicks or not so aggressive radial racing and it only takes a few minutes to change the valve pack out you can also have one set for towing the trailer while road driving and have one for road driving without a trailer if you put a set on front and back and got a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft if you don't already have a carbon driveshaft I think it would put Mullet over the top and wouldn't tear as much stuff up if the driveshaft broke if it was a carbon driveshaft compared to a steel or aluminum driveshaft if they broke it would be the driveshaft tunnel all up and maybe even tear a hole in the floor as to where a carbon driveshaft will turn into dust if it broke

Kevin's "Good mornings" at the first of the videos and his laid back and easy going tone/style makes him like the "Mr. Rodgers" of the automotive world. It is almost like a "Hello neighbors, sit back and relax while we make this car even faster today," and before you know it -all is right in the world, you learned a few things, got inspired, and the car in the video is even better than it was a few minutes ago. I swear I heard birds start chirping, and the sun peeked out of the clouds, and my car got mysteriously quicker just by watching this video. Your the man Kevin & Crew!

Suspension Geometry the black magic that makes good vehicles great ones. Thanks Kevin and KSR for another great video.
@troy-from-cjrc
@troy-from-cjrc 3 жыл бұрын
It's really not magic, but a ride height does need to be established when a car is being built to get the geometry right. The ride height was raised at one point which threw off the geometry a little, fortunately the brackets had a little meat left at the bottom to add some holes to correct it.
@logandeathrage6945
@logandeathrage6945 3 жыл бұрын
@@troy-from-cjrc Agreed it isn't magic but it is suprising how many people get it wrong or just do not understand and never correct the issue. Thinking back to all those cars in the late 90s and early 2000s with lowered springs kits as an example. *shudders*

Kevin is awesome, but that's a little harsh for other KZbinrs, it becomes impossible at a certain point, even Kevin commented on how he's spending more time moderating now, and that there are so many comments he can't get through them all. You were here from the beginning when he was small, but eventually when he gets to over 1mil subs and 250k views on each video, between raising his kids, running the shop, working, racing, filming, and editing (in order of priorities), he probably won't have time to like and respond to nearly as many comments, and I don't think that means he cares about us any less.

Coming from a guy who has been around drag racing all my life and I'm 35 every single one of my uncles and cousins plus my dad and I all have been drag racing either separately or together in some part of life and I was always told if you own a high performance street car or a full blown drag car you'll always stay out of trouble and you'll always stay off of drugs and that sort of things because you'll always be working on your car for either general maintenance or to repair things to either go faster or just to make it to the track the next weekend so between spending all your spare time working on your car and spending all your spare money on your car you'll never have the time or money to do anything else and also back then we were all really big into street racing so not only did we have to work on our cars in order to go to the track the following weekend we also had to always make sure our cars were on kill just in case we had someone call us out for a street race or if we wanted call someone out we had to make sure our cars were always ready

My dad passed when I was 12 when I was 16 my brand new 1979 400 Yamaha that I traded my dt250 for caught my neighbors eye. Chris was in the Airforce he and his wife had a baby on the way. He had 2 Pontiac tempests one stock sedan and a 63 wagon with a built 69 catalina 400 engine and turbo 400 trans also built along with headers going into corvette side pipes followed by a Ford 9 inch with Micky Thompson L 50's a 12 second car that only ran on sunoco 93 octane. We exchanged titles he had a brand new slow 🐌 Yamaha that sipped regular fuel. I was 16 working one full-time job after school and 2 part-time jobs on the weekends . I had no fear of the car no adult supervision and for 3 years my 63 tempest wagon was my daily driver with no repairs and no tickets, surprisingly since daily I exceeded 120 mph that's as fast as the speedometer read . Naturally I was well past that to the point the front would float and allot of steering input was needed to make a difference but it always tracked straight. When I went in the Airforce I told my mother if she needed money to sell my car well she did 3 days after I left for 600 bucks 😶😱 . Yes I still miss it but everytime I started a search for a donor I realized how hard it would be to build a unibody transaxle car to replace my childhood daily driver

A lot of it is probably the pump heating the fuel once the fuel level gets low, a bigger tank would really help with that and more weight adjustability in the back. I’m worried that with the longer shocks the bar angle won’t be much better than it is now fully extended, but I’m sure Kevin has thought that through

I've noticed that they don't cover up when welding other than the helmet and gloves. Does that type of welding not cause flash burns on exposed skin the way a regular stick welder does?
@LgSutterby
@LgSutterby 3 жыл бұрын
@@kilgorefamily76 depends on amperage settings, but yes, you can still get welders burn with a TIG machine. That being said, in this particular clip he was just running a few beads, not exposing himself for very long, so there’s no big issue with not wearing sleeves or a welding jacket. TIG also produces very little in the way of sparks/slag, especially compared to arc welding, so you don’t have to worry about sparks landing on your arms and burning you lol

I have a 3000$ Hitachi masonry saw repurposed for cutting high profile aluminum extrusions with it's 10 pound 15 inch 100 tooth carbide blade, free hand, really scary work. Why freehand please tell me a quick way to clamp an arc to a flat fence, to be fair the arc has a 1 inch surface to rest on but is 7.5 inches tall and has a 1.5 inch flange .060 thick to rest against the fence. Racing a drag car down the track can be scary at times, but hoping my hand doesn't shake at the wrong moment with a mechanical piranha millimeters away is just terrifying, but it's my job, love your videos Kevin you put the same love and attention to every car you work on, just like I used to. When it's a work of love it never seems finished.

@@kittty2005 My suggestion is use a cutoff of your extrusion and trace that arc profile on to a block of wood and then cut it to match the arc, then you can register the arc in the block against the fence and maybe use a flat board fixed to your moving jaw to clamp against the tails of the arc.

Make sure to use some lube on that evolution saw. I use saw-ease. Increases the life of the blade. This blades aren’t cheap. Also, don’t bother with the universal cut blade. Buy the specific blade for what you’re cutting.

Kevin two handing that mill is the tell tale sign of a boy who dreamed of growing up to be a CNC :P Also, the fact that you used such a large bit (I forget the technical name for those things), for such a small curved cut scared me. Also, also, using a spacer and checking adjustments with calipers with drilling? Guys, my heart can only take so much.
