What coverage! You can probably bet Doug's the only driver ever to have taken out five timing beacons in one incident...

Like to see 65’s view. Don’t know why he slowed down causing 99 to ram him...

Finally, somebody (thank you racinglineUSA) has asked the most pertinent question, why was the car that caused the crash slowing down? Missed shift? Fire go out? Electrical problem? Fuel?
@TheSooner199911 жыл бұрын
Could have been a LOT worse. If his tires clipped the tires on the inside of the wall he might have flipped a lot harder and went out on the track in someones path.

Amazingly fast reflexes from the driver in front of Noell!

Super fortunate for Mr. Peterson. Why a Swift 016 FA with both significant horsepower and car design over the Star Mazda is that far back in the grid is beyond me, that is what regional racing is for, not the June Sprints. Did the red FA driver pass out? Seriously dangerous driving.

Amazing footage! Is this a multi-class race from FCC?

I would hope that wasn't gas or oil. That could have been really ugly with all those sparks.

I had a slightly different view from Timing and Scoring. Scary!!!!

not sure I would have jumped out until all the cars had passed. very scary to think if the car had caught the wall and flipped near his head this would have been a fatality. in this video you can see why a canopy would be a good thing (protection during a crash) and a bad thing (can't get out easily after the crash).

I saw fuel, and sparks, I am SO glad that what could have happened didn't.

I thought that was fuel leaking out beside of his head. It looked like two Formula Atlantic class cars tangled and Doug got the worst of it because he was piched between them and the pit wall. These are the kind of crashes that scared me when I was drving FMs. The other kind was getting the nose caught in metal fencing.

Formula Atlantic and Formula F. Formula Atlantics, not all but most, like to use their horsepower to be "better" than everyone but end up making the situations worse haha. They're the fastest open wheel car in SCCA
@JesusIsGod22211 жыл бұрын
wow .. fuel was coming out too .. or some kind of liquid . im guessing is fuel .. and sparks were visible .. lucky Dough

Once again another reason to hate FA's. It always seems like once you spend over 80,000 dollars you lose all concept of the fact that there are other cars on the track...wow imagine that! There ARE other cars out there besides yourself. haha Sorry im a FF racer and it gets old having someone dive bomb you unnecessarily. Not all FA racers are terrible but wow dude the brake pedal is on the left try it sometime, it wont send slower classes over the pit wall

12 years on and it can still be said: FA drivers have more car than talent.
