I remember doing, or attempting to do a self tip at aldi chelmsford a few months ago, my agency told me to pick up lorry already loaded from the yard at 0330 to get to chelmsford for 0500. Got there on time only to be told by the security guy to come back at 0700! He was moaning about it was a day late or something. fair enough, I thought, got on the blower to the boss he was ok about it so parked up nearby and got a bit of shut-eye in. When I got to actually tipping it the pallets were stacked with tins of corned beef, wrapped up in clingy but were stacked inside the dimensions of each pallet, and were only held in by the slide along internal straps. Being new to this game then, driving rigids at first, getting used to rdc's and stuff, I unwisely put the ppt under the first pallet, eventually dragged it out after much slipping and of course about 8 or 900 tins f*cked over the docking bay, had to re stack them took two hours. It ended up the whole load had fell over like dominoes and was refused so had to take it to felixstowe where they were loaded at first. Hindsight tells me I wished I had taken a closer look at the load when I glanced at it with a torch from the back doors! Funny thing is I had corned beef and tomato sarinies in my pack up that day! - didn't feel like eating them for some reason! Merry Christmas!

Jesus Christ 🤣 someone had something similar happen the previous time I went, on the bay next to me. Thankfully not as bad as yours, ha ha Was just packets of noodles all over the show. I helped him for 20 mins then he wanted to finish up himself. Merry Christmas buddy 🎅🏻👍🏻

Andy, as a non trucker but spectator, I really feel torn on opinion on self unloading. One thought is they are taking the pish. (Why not bus me to a nearby store and fill shelves for you whilst I am waiting for a bay). Pragmatic side of me thinks; Damn I can do this quicker myself, & get the hell out of here! Old skool, if you want a job doing proper, do it yerself! LOL! Hope another vid before Chrimbo, but not, Happy Xmas to you & family.
