Tip: don’t let anyone bring their own cards. Back when I used to organize home games the cards were purchased day of from a local bodega with other players present. When there is gambling there will always be potential for cheating.

He was valued at around 10 mill until he went on his run bad last year so I guess he is probably getting people to bankroll him as a lot of 'pro' degens do.

It still amazes me that high stakes games have move private to the extent that there is very little left either on-line or in casinos (apart from the big tours) yet this environment is the most likely to encourage cheating. Hopefully this is the catalyst for a shift back to more traditional venues.

I was cheated in a home game in the early 2000's. None of the other players believed me and continued playing the rigged game for weeks. One night months later, one of the guys got caught base dealing, late night, short handed, and even still people didn't want to believe they were being cheated. They had sunglasses with a lens that revealed what cards were in play. The stakes weren't even that high 1-3 cash game

You can’t trust home games with ppl you don’t know, I’d play lower stakes with good friends, and like 10 dollar buy in. No big risk. But I found this Facebook group next door, that have professional tables and a dealer and massage girls and beer, food, and I’m like cool! Well that’s how they reel you in, it’s a cheat racket. I can’t prove it, but let’s just say their friend kept winning, and I kept losing, I was short stacked, trying to win back my money, I have Ace high flush, I go all in, and lose to a 9 to k straight flush, and knowing the odds of that, I just left and never returned. They have a lot of cheat rackets in these home games, the best way to play is at a casino. Regulated and filmed.

Yeah I believe it. A lot of times the house isn't even aware what the cheaters do is they go around the neighborhood where the game is played and they switch every deck inside the grocery stores or all the stores they buy the decks at. It's really not that hard to pull this off. House isn't even aware a lot of the times.

You don't even need to have people giving physical signals, cheating devices for roulette (called calculators) are small enough to fit in your mouth or under your foot inside your shoe. They give vibration signals, devices like this could easily be ported to poker cheating and more than likely have been.

If you are accused of cheating in a card game based on 1 eye-witness account you draw attention...after the 2nd eye-witness account or any reasonable evidence shown, you are labeled a cheater....if you did not cheat you MUST FIGHT THE FIRST PERSON WHO CALLS YOU A CHEATER OR YOU ARE ADMITTING TO CHEATING!! Nothing is more important than your name in the streets and the intergrity of the game you play...People steal tournament chips off of tables in St.Louis during every break. I have personally fought 2 people who stole chips during break...1 of those guys i have fought twice because every time i see him i call him out as loud as i can in front of the entire poker room as a thief and a cheater....

Poker in general doesnt have the same kinds of oversights and precautions as casino table games, but home games have even less of that. Poker has all kinds of issues which involve various rules that table games also dont have. Just avoid poker and life will be simpler.

This doesn't only happen at high stakes games believe it or not there's many many private games that use marked cards even some of them don't know the cards are marked because the cheaters go around the neighborhood and switch all the decks inside the stores they buy their decks from. A lot of the times the house isn't even aware that they're dealing marked cards.

Man I use to play small games once covid started in my friends garage. There was always 1 specific guy who would get so mad when he would lose. Sometimes he would try and cheat his way into not having to rebuy even though it was only 10$-20$ for a rebuy. This guy would lose big pots and try only save a few chips thinking no one would recount his chips. A few times with me I told the dealer I want a recount and on multiple occasions with that player, he would still owe chips and have to rebuy in, each time he would make it a big deal. I got sick of this a-hole quick. I also heard from others he tried taking another persons chips when they weren’t looking. A real piece of garbage. Anyways if the winner only took home 200$ total as a friendly game of poker, and people cheat on that scale, I’m sure people playing with 100,000$ + would for sure cheat.

Years ago this person I considered a friend Was always taking about these kind of cheating strategies That he could order from Germany This was in early 2000 Then years later he was running a game Every once in a while When he was dealing he would give me a weird look And I would win the pot After this happened a few times I stopped going to play I figured something was going on I parted my ways with that individual I kind of told a few of the people I kind of liked to be careful At the end I was the bad guy And the same people are still going and playing in the games Oh well

Most those people involved with hcl are scammers. I don't think robbie cheated but it was definitely possible there was cheating. All the pieces were in place. Keep in mind Nick v was 3rd in all time money at one point when he played higher stakes. Anyone buying that he is or ever was a top 3 player....good for you. Plus all the scams he was involved with pre hcl. Hang around that crowd long enough you're gonna get scammed.

Calling someone a poker cheat without hard video / audio evidence is the equivolent of the movies when they are successfully sneaking up on the main bad guy half way in and then decide to yell from a distance "hey, you, stop!". They turn, see you and get away. Next time people, set them up and film it. How easy would it have been to catch Mike Postle if they took a few days to install some hidden cameras to see his phone or something.

People pointing the finger at others for how a cheat deck turned up is not the same as video footage of someone placing and using it with the uv lenses. UV lenses are easy to check. But nobody thought to do any of that when millions are on the line, so the cheat walks into the sunset as usual.
