I made a video about why mixing engineers don’t like using fl cause of hardware gear weeks ago and some fl producers were cooking me in the comments. Good to see I wasn’t tripping. We definitely need hardware inserts on fl. It’s not as smooth as a daw like ableton
@Ya-boi-o4dАй бұрын
i use fl studio to bus out stems on my neve orbit hitting it hard inserts will be nice. tho but yea
@huhhh-gg4xxАй бұрын
yeah would be nice but it kinda makes sense why image line wouldn't focus on getting in the same competitive space as pro tools luna and studio one. Pretty sure a small percentage of FL producers own gear.
@JEBJOSHАй бұрын
@ yeah but after years of using FL Studio you might want to start experimenting

That was cool!. Also, what he was talking about with the MBP- Portico 2 as he uses it to Master the stereo image? I want to get a MBT - well a Serious stereo compressor, maybe a bus plus SSL? (Compressor to MBT then to MBP (portico) that’s my next plan of action!
@TannerByTheSeaАй бұрын
I’ve already got the portico

He has some amazing equipment some of which I have (OB-6, Third wave, WesAudio ngTubeEQ, SPL Vitalizer, SSL Bus+ and the Bettermaker Limiter from what I can see). Kids, you don't need any of this stuff get an MPC One and freak it...become an expert and use plugins... become an expert on that then try analog gear it gets really expensive....Trust me, I'm about $68K in... As a guitar and keyboard player you need analog gear.

Keyboard player hear love Analog
@Sance21Ай бұрын
100%. I’m about 37k in. Among these units I have the SPL from January and the Neve MBP II since 2020. Hardware is not needed for mixing, but mastering makes a difference for more acoustic styles. A quality mic and preamp when it comes to the vocal chain does, too.
@Gang-25jАй бұрын
@@Sance21I hybrid mix as well along with mastering gear. But there are ppl mastering with just software that will spank your ass hands down.
@Sance21Ай бұрын
@ No doubt. When it comes to digital, I actually think the preferred sound is not using analog emulation plugins, but ones that excel at the strengths of digital. Analog gear just gives you a different perspective and a faster way there, at the expense processing time and recall.
@risingphoenix1484Ай бұрын
@@Sance21 Analog makes such a difference in tracking.... if you been at it as long as I have or are consistently in properly (scientifically and professionally) treated rooms you clearly hear the difference between plugin instruments and hardware and when you go through certain preamps... man its heavven... its worlds apart. That to me is where you hear the difference in tones and clarity... For the earbud generation however they don't care and can't really hear that well to identify the separation, the tones and dynamics. I think its because of the loud wars and that is where digital mastering might have inadvertently made things worse.

How is everything connected are there patch bays somewhere how do you patch things in are there any additional that you use, the gear is beautiful but how is it all put together, do you have a fluent workflow?
@JEBJOSHАй бұрын
There’s probably a patch bay to make things easier but he’s definitely going to have an audio interface with multiple inputs and outputs. All audio recorded to the computer ends up going in the audio interface someway
@jltbk5420Ай бұрын
In his earlier videos where bolo interviews him he has a Rme UFX 3 Audio interface that has the ability to expand to 144 I/O. He has the interface paired up with a ferrofish converter. Rme has software called total mix that you can patch anything to whatever’s connected to the converters. Then everything gets printed into his Burl B2.

That'll only come from anyone who thinks a "Lunchbox" is metal Marvel comic themed "samich" and cupcake carrier. Front-end is key and he gotta enuff toys to get it in for sure. But if cats wanna get it in on a budget there's viable options they can comp and get it done with a few patchbays depending on their setups.
