Been running my own studio for two years now in the U.K. and Bainz & Tumays mixes have been consistent references for me. Influencing our U.K. wave rap sound that we’re building over here. Really appreciate this guys work!

Naw man nobody wants to hear a song with 1000 tags in the beginning
@fieldtrxp75303 жыл бұрын
@@jayfromdaa_apkthey can spread them throughout or put them at the end? Certain songs hit even more with a tag. Example: Father Stretch my Hands, Faneto, Sicko Mode, Bop etc.

When you talk about the history and evolution of black music in America the only constant is the idea of improvisation over recitation and repetition. Rock and Roll, especially the guitar side, is an evolution of blues guitar with high amplification and distortion. It is the result of the improvisation and creativity of various blues artists using different types of guitars from old school box guitars to steel guitars and eventually electric guitars and then playing with the sound and improvising. Jimi Hendrix is the epitome of this improvisation of sound from blues guitar in rock and roll. Hip Hop is also the same where you take the evolution of acapella singing (Gospel Jubilaires, "Preacher and the Bear", 1941) with a focus on improvisational rhyming. The sounds to go along with that rhyming can come from anywhere: banging on a table, a wall, drum, using your mouth, etc; but there is no focus on the "science" of how that sound is produced versus you like it when you hear it. And of course that improvisation also includes taking sounds from music recorded by others and using it to make new sounds which is where the use of break beats from various songs (rock, soul, funk, jazz, etc) became the origin of "sampling" before there was such a thing as loops and beat libraries. The difference is that the sound is the only thing that matters and not the "science" of how to produce a particular sound and that is where you need a studio engineer to turn the knobs and knows the science to be able to produce a particular sound.

So I feel that’s a real missed opportunity to speak with bainz. The show is giving way too much time to herb reflecting on his own findings and career approach as though he’s interviewing himself . We need dave asking the guests engineering questions and the guests answering the questions , not herb making long statements and asking guests if they agree with him Check bainz convo with matt rad. That’s the difference

I've noticed lately this show has shifted from an engineering focus from Dave to a philosophical focus from Herb. to quote another commenter... Too bad thugs album was half unmixed and unmastered. I guess thug wanted it like that, but as an engineer it would kill me to have the songs I worked on released like that.
